Haul | A Few Bits From Lush

For Christmas I was extremely lucky to receive a HUGE amount of Lush goodies! So I decided it would only be right for me to do a Lush haul for you! I should probably say this is a collection of bath products I not only got for Christmas, but I also bought for myself whilst Christmas shopping (...oops!)

This is one of the ones I bought for myself, I've never used this bubble bar before because I was put off by the scent which was quite strong! But when I went into Lush again I decided to have another go and I actually really like it now! Although it would seem that this bubble bar would turn your bath all kinds of colours, I've read a few reviews that actually say that it surprisingly does nothing to the colour of your bath! Nevertheless, I am still excited to use it as I am sure that it will smell lush!

Ice Cream Cake

Ice cream cake is the PERFECT little pick-me-up! It lasts forever and is so so simple to make.. it really is a must for any baker, pro or amateur!

Here's a little bake I tweaked from a Nigella Lawson recipe to make it... well.. more chocolatey! But, if you've eaten way to much chocolate over the Christmas break and are actually need an intervention - you can click here for the SLIGHTLY healthier option by Nigella!

What I Got For Christmas | 2015

If you're nosey (like me!) and like to see what people got for Christmas stick around!!

Personally I do a lot of blog and channel stalking on Boxing Day mainly to find out what everyone got for Christmas! I don't know what it is about this kind of post/video but I do really love to see what other people wanted/received for Christmas - and now that I have a blog I get to join in too!!

I was extremely lucky this year and was spoiled by both my family and my lovely boyfriend and I am so grateful! Not only for the lovely gifts but also the fact that they made the day so special and festive! So, I've put together a little bunch featuring some of the presents I think you'd enjoy seeing the most! (This, of course, doesn't mean that I love my other presents any less!)

Merry Christmas!

It's finally here! Every year I can't believe how massive the build up is for just this one day.. but I kind of secretly love it!

So, I just wanted to write a short post wishing you all a merry Christmas and I hope you all have a lovely day. (whether you celebrate Christmas or not!) I've only had this blog for about a month and all the support and lovely people I've met along the way has be truly amazing! I never even knew the blogging community was a thing until I joined it and it makes me so so happy that I started a blog because I get to make friends with some really lovely loves!

Anyways, I'll stop be soppy now.. I hope you all have a great day spending time with the ones you love and stuffing your faces with chocolate and Christmas dinner (you deserve it!)

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve Traditions

There's only one more sleep till the big day! So get you Christmas pj's on and get an early night ready for Father Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I hope you're all ready for the big day!!
As I've mentioned in earlier posts, every year me and my Mum spend Christmas eve making food ready for Christmas day! We spend almost the entire day making mice pies, sausage rolls and quiches - all while listening to Christmas songs and drinking Bucks Fizz (don't ask.. haha!) I love the fact that we have this tradition because now that I've moved out we don't get to spend as much time together, so Christmas eve is a way of us bonding and having a good conversation whilst doing something we love! - and of course eating all the food on Christmas day is a HUGE bonus!!

So, I thought I would take a few pictures of the bakes we made during the day and showcase them here to make you feel all festive and Christmas-y!

Winter Pamper Routine

The lead up to Christmas can be stressful so run a bath, stick a bath bomb in and relax! Winter is my favourite time of year for pampering and I find myself in the bath at least 3 times a week! I love pampering my skin with body scrubs and moisturisers too because it's important to keep your skin feeling soft, especially in the winter when your skin does tend to dry out!

I start off my winter pamper routine by running a bath and choosing a bath bomb! My collection has gone down extensively since December started and I can't wait for Christmas to come around so I can go to Lush and stock up again! I also ran out of the more Christmas-y bath products, so I opted for Lush's Big Bang Bubble Bar instead. (as I am a big fan of bubbles!) It was actually the first time I've used this bubble bar and it was AMAZING! It turns your bath a gorgeous light blue colour, and the pink star melts into your bath and moisturises your skin beautifully! With citrus-y scents of tangerine and grapefruit its the perfect refreshing blend for any pamper evening!

Christmas Nail Polish | Barry M

With Christmas just around the corner I thought I would do a short blog post about my favourite nail polishes for Christmas. So as everyone is now starting to think about Christmas day outfits I thought this would be good inspiration for Christmas day nail colours! I chose to feature Barry M as they are probably one of my top favourite nail polish brands and have the best christmas colours in my nail polish collection! (Unfortunately, I'm not going to show these nail polishes on my actual nail because my nails are horribly bitten down at the moment! and I just feel like they wouldn't do the polishes justice!) *I review the nail polishes as in the picture from left to right!

Festive Shortbread Bites

I love baking way too much during Christmastime... If you love baking and are in an overly festive mood like me, these mini shortbread bites are the PERFECT afternoon bake! Shortbread is so easy to make as it literally only needs 4 ingredients! So get out your festive cookie cutters and lets get baking! Also, thanks to the lovely Tanya Burr for inspiring me to make these shortbread bites! You can see how she made Chritsmasy shortbread stars by clicking here!

7 Days Until Christmas!

So there's only one more week until the big day! (Holding back my crazy excitement!) This post if you all you people who like to keep busy during the Christmas break, I thought it would be a good idea to give you guys a few ideas for activities you could do this week in the run up to Christmas (to make the time go faster of course!!)

What's that sound?! Oh! It's the gasps of all the last minute Christmas shoppers! I really hope I didn't make anyone's heart sink at the thought of all the presents they haven't bought yet! To be honest, I was more organised than I have ever been this year and I actually bought all of presents at the end of November! Usually I am a huge sufferer of Christmas present anxiety, and I am definitely not one of those 'buy everything for next Christmas in the January sales' types (if you are one of these people.. I salute you!) But for those of you who are not quite as organised don't worry, you still have time, trust me! Just don't leave it too long...

If you haven't already broken out the Christmas DVD's (in October... like I did....) now is the time to do it! Go and grab a nice cup of hot chocolate, a few marshmallows, switch on the Christmas tree lights and get cosy with a festive movie! This is personally one of my favourite things to do in the run up to Christmas (much to my boyfriends dismay...) Some Christmas movie suggestions are: Home Alone, Elf, The Holiday, Polar Express, Love Actually and The Grinch.

Christmas is the best time of year to break out that apron and start baking! There are so many Christmas-y recipes you can make and they don't even need to be that difficult! Perfect for a winter evening activity!

Being with your friends and family at this time of year makes Christmas feel extra special and festive! One of my favourite things to do with my family is play board games, some of the best family board games are: Monopoly, The Game of Life and Don't Say It! We also love to break out Cards Against Humanity (once the under 18's have gone to bed of course!) So break into that box of Quality Street pop on those Christmas tunes and enjoy each others company!

DAY 5 | GO OUT!

One of my favourite Christmas activities is ice skating because its a such a magical and festive activity during Christmastime! Personally, I'm not the best at ice skating.. but even just scooting around the rink slowly whilst holding on to the edge can be fun when you're with you favourite people! If you don't have an ice rink that you can go to, I find that a winter walk can be just as lovely because for me, the best part is wrapping up warm with my scarf, hat and gloves and feeling all cosy! You could also go to a Christmas market, even if you don't have the intention of buying anything just looking around and being in the hustle and bustle of the people feels so Christmas-y! Again, be sure to wrap up warm and you HAVE to grab a nice cup of hot chocolate! You never know, you might find a bargain!

A cosy pamper evening is the perfect Christmas activity for those who love a good bath! So get out your cinnamon scented Lush bath bomb and relax in the warmth of the bath with a book or YouTube video!

So, its finally Christmas eve and only one more sleep until the big day!! During my Christmas eve me and my Mum bake for most of the day, we prepare mince pies, sausage rolls and Christmas deserts ready for a feast on Christmas day! In the evening set out your stocking and don't forget to leave some milk and a biscuit out for Father Christmas! Oh! and a carrot for Rudolph, of course! I usually tend to get an early night too! Just so Christmas day comes a bit sooner!

Christmas Gift Guide | Luxury Gifts Over £25

So, to continue on from my last blog post, today I'll be giving you a little inspiration on those Christmas gifts that are a little more pricey! These are the luxury gifts that I bet are on all of our Christmas wish lists!

Christmas Gift Guide | Stocking Fillers Under £15

If you're still looking for some Christmas gift inspiration, you've come to the right place!
Buying Christmas presents is like marmite.. you either love it or you hate it! Personally, I actually quite enjoy buying Christmas presents but if you're one of those people who suffers from bad present anxiety I've got you covered! Here's a list of 5 different stocking filler gifts - all under £15, for all of the favourite people in your life!

Christmas-y Cake Pops

The holiday season is by far the best time to bake, and as cake pops are a brilliant addition to any Christmas party or festive evening in why not get that apron on and get baking?!

These cake pops make brilliant gifts too as they look extremely complex but are actually secretly quite easy to master, all you need is a little patience! So, without further ado, here's how you make Christmas-y cake pops.

(I bought most of my cake pop necessities from The Cake Decorating Company who I can't recommend enough! They are affordable and so reliable! So if you'd like to buy your baking supplies from them just click the link here!

Ultimate Christmas Hot Chocolate

If, like me, you find it difficult to get warm during the winter months I have the perfect thing for you... Getting cosy on the sofa with a Christmas movie is probably one of my favourite things to do this time of year! The only thing that would make it better is the ULTIMATE Christmas hot chocolate, it is so easy to make and tastes absolutely DELICIOUS! This recipe is simple as it takes a spin on the classic hot chocolate method, but it tastes SO GOOD!

SERVES: 2 people
PREP TIME: 3-4 minutes

Favourite Winter Makeup Picks

Winter is probably my favourite time of year for experimenting with makeup (Autumn comes in close second!!) The tones and colours of winter makeup are so beautiful and I enjoy incoporating darker (and more glittery!) tones and colours into my makeup bag

The Perfect Christmas Playlist

If you aren't listening to Christmas songs at this time of year… what are you doing with your life..?! Personally, I have Christmas songs blasting from every speaker (my neighbours probably hate me...) So, whether you're hosting a fancy dinner party or dancing around in the kitchen like no one is watching I've put together the perfect playlist for this festive time of year!!

The Christmas Tag

As its nearing Christmas and I am feeling SUPER festive (to be honest, I've been feeling festive since Halloween ended, but anyway...) I thought it's about time I did a little Christmas tag!

I've put together 10 christmas-y questions, please feel free to paste them into your own blog! I'd love to see how you answer them!

1. What's your favourite Christmas movie?

This is actually a really tricky one, as I have so many favourites! I love The Snowman, Elf, Home Alone and Love Actually. But the one Christmas movie that I do watch every year during Christmas without fail (and to be honest, sometimes in summer) is The Holiday. Mainly because I love everyone in it! It is such an enjoyable and loveable film and you don't have to love romantic comedies to enjoy it!

Christmas Tree Haul | John Lewis & Matalan

'Deck the halls with boughs of holly... fa la la la la...!'
Decorating the Christmas tree has got to be one of my top top favourite parts of Christmas (other that stuffing my face on Christmas day...!) And as I have now moved out of my family home, this year is the first Christmas that I was able to decorate my tree how I wanted...Of course this meant buying an obscene amount of christmas tree ornaments and lights (and obviously the all important decision of deciding on a colour theme!)

John Lewis was my first stop as I know they have an amazing range of Christmasy items, and their selection of christmas decorations and baubles did not disappoint!

My Vanity Table

Another great thing about moving into my new house was the fact that my room doubled in size, this meant that I could stop living out of a makeup bag and move onto bigger better things...!

To be honest the first thing I did when I moved into this house was set up my vanity table... After watching countless makeup storage videos on Youtube, I knew before I'd even moved out of my old house that I 100% NEEDED one! So, if you're looking for inspiration, or like me, are just rather nosey when it comes to seeing how other people organise their things.. sit back and enjoy!

Christmas Bath Time Essentials | Lush

There's nothing better on a cold day than soaking in a cosy hot bath...Since moving into a new house and acquiring a brand new bath I feel like I have really tried to make the most of it! I have spent many hours soaking in a spa of gorgeous scents and colours. (with many more candles than is really necessary!) In fact, my bath collection has gone way overboard and I am starting to run out of space to put them all neatly in the bathroom.

Especially since we're now getting into the colder, wintery months, (and the fact that we still haven't mastered how to work the heating!) there's nothing I like better than relaxing in the bath with a great Christmas movie!

White Chocolate & Rolo Cookies

Here's a little baking recipe that I tweaked to make the most yummy cookies ever!

Cookies are an easy, fun and delicious bake!! And are the perfect addition to a cosy winter evening!

PREP TIME: 25 minutes
CHILL TIME: 30 minutes
COOK TIME: 11 minutes
Makes 8-10 large cookies

First Post | Welcome To My Simple Life

I have always wanted to start a blog, but I've never really gotten round to it...
In the lead up to Christmas I've surprisingly had a lot of time on my hands (I am actually being super organised this year!) and I've spent a lot of this time getting inspriration from other blogs such as Tanya Burr, Zoella and Poppy Deyes so much that I've decided to start my own! I've been thinking for a while that I'd love to share small areas of my life, if not to any readers (although that would be nice!) then to my future self, so I can see what I was getting up to when I was 19 years old. And, as I am struggling to get to sleep tonight, there's no better time to start!
