Year In Review | My Favourite Posts Of 2016

2017 is so almost here and I must admit, as much as I don't want to say goodbye to Christmas I really can't wait to go back to normality in January! It's been a bit stressful recently what with work and travelling back and forward to see family over the festive season and as much as I've loved every second (well... not the work part, but still!) I can't wait to just get back to a normal daily routine where I know what's what. The only thing I'm not really looking forward to is the uni work, since I know that I can no longer use the excuse that it's Christmas to stop me from doing assignments and I definitely need to get stuck into my dissertation which wont be fun... ugh. But anyway, for todays post I wanted to reminisce a little bit on the past year, especially when it comes to my blog. So I've put together a little post showcasing some of my favourite posts over the year - I really hope you'll love going back and reading them as much as I did, it really was so lovely to look back and see how far I've come! It's been a bit of a crazy year for my blog and if someone would've said to me a year ago that I'd be sat here with 4,000+ twitter followers and over 57,000 blog views in a year I wouldn't have believed them! To be honest, I didn't even think I'd be able to keep it up for that long, but it really is all the support I've received that has kept me going so you definitely all deserve a big thank you - whether you read every single post I publish or if this is the first post you're reading! So yes, this is my last post of 2016, which is actually super scary to say! I've had such a good year, yes it's been full of massive ups and even bigger downs but I've still had such a good time and I've survived so that's the main thing, haha! I hope you've all had a lovely year too and I wish you all the best for 2017 - see you all in the new year for tonnes more posts every other day!

What I Got For Christmas 2016

I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas! I always hate this bit after Christmas, when the fun is over and it's time to go back to normality... although to be honest I'm glad work isn't going to be busy this week because I need a huge break! I had a really lovely Christmas though, despite being ill and barely being able to eat my Christmas dinner, I still had a lovely time with my family playing games and having a laugh and did actually manage to eat my weight in chocolate and pringles, of course! I'm super nosey so I always love reading What I Got For Christmas posts and I've decided to do my own one this year since I ran a poll on my twitter and you lot all seemed want one; so I've chosen a few bits that I thought you guys would be the most interested in. I have definitely been spoilt this year and I couldn't be more thankful for all of the thoughtful gifts I received! I'm sure I don't need to disclaim that I'm not bragging in any way just simply giving you a few bits to add to your own wish list - because I'm an enabler like that, haha! Apologies if this post is a bit different to normal, I'm still pretty ill and I'm ready for a nap so I must admit I'm writing this at lightning speed (and I just had to spend way too long taking the pictures for this post because the lighting in winter is just ridiculous - #bloggerproblems!) Anyways, as I said I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas full of family and food and I also hope Santa brought you everything you wanted!

Update #13 | Merry Christmas... almost!

I feel like I need to apologise in advance for my lack of festivity in the post... because I'm actually writing this a few days before Christmas eve and I'm not feeling very festive to say the least! I'm sure I won't be saying that this time tomorrow though because I will finally be done with work and I can actually have a break - starting work at 4am every single day this week has been so tiring! I can't wait to finally sit down with a hot chocolate and start feeling really Christmas-y! So, for today's post, after the results of the poll I ran on twitter I've decided to write a new Christmas tag. (It was draw between The Christmas tag and Christmas baking and I literally have to time for Christmas baking.. so I took the easier option, haha!) I actually did a Christmas tag a year ago and surprise surprise it's super cringey... but you can read that here if you really want to! But yeah, I decided to write a new, updated one for obvious reasons - I'm also going to answer different questions (that I found here!) to switch it up a bit and my answers are definitely short and sweet because I'm super rushed for time! Feel free to answer them on your own blog but make sure you share me your link, I'd love to read them! I also hope you all have a lovely Christmas, filled with cosiness and loads of food! I won't be posting on the 26th, but I'll be back on the 28th so see you all on the other side!

10 Signs You're Shamelessly Obsessed With Christmas

It's officially almost Christmas! I know I know, us Christmas obsessed elves have already been excited since Halloween ended, so we are more than ready for Christmas to happen now. Genuinely though I am a huge Christmas-aholic and I feel like if people would just accept my festive self and let me be my inner Christmas elf, my tree would've been up since November! I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who's this obsessed with Christmas too... yes I'm talking to you, I know you've already watched Love Actually three times this year, not to mention eaten your fair share of mince pies! So yes, scrooges should stay away from today's post because I am sharing ten signs that you are obsessed with Christmas - I'm pretty sure that I can relate to every single sign, which practically makes me buddy the elf right?! Let me know if you can relate to any of these things in the comments below and feel free to add your own ideas, I would love to have a read!

Last Minute Gift Idea | AlumierMD Luxury Gift Set Review*

I hope you're all enjoying the final week of Christmas (how is it even a week until Christmas?!) but yes, it's that time of the Christmas month where you're quickly running out of ideas for what to get for people... and you realise that you pretty much just bought things for yourself on your last trip to town that was supposed to be strictly for Christmas shopping! Trust me, I know the feeling! Last minute gift idea posts are my favourite when it comes to the last week of Christmas and I spend ages browsing through them trying to find inspiration for what to get for my loved ones. So today, I thought I would share an amazing last minute gift idea that would be perfect for any of the lovely ladies in your life - particularly if you've suddenly realised that you haven't bought anything for Mum, oops! Anyone who has a love for skin care and loves a good pamper when it comes to giving your face a little TLC will absolutely love this gift I am sure of it.. even if you do end up keeping it for yourself - you deserve it, Christmas is stressful, haha! After using this product for around a week thought I pretty much want to buy the gift set for everyone I know

5 Christmas Gift Wrapping Tips (+ DIY Gift Bags)

The Christmas shopping rush is probably done and dusted now, maybe you still have a few little bits to get but you've officially started to think about the next task at hand - wrapping all the Christmas presents! Now, I'm no wrapping expert, but I at least like to think that I make an effort when it comes to making my gifts look good - even if the odd one does look like it's been wrapped by a 5 year old.. that's what ribbon is for right?! I actually really love wrapping presents though, I love just sticking on a Christmas playlist, grabbing all my supplies and wrapping for hours, haha! So today I thought I would share some of my favourite wrapping tips that I've learnt over the year to help you to make your gifts look amazing this year - forget the phrase 'it's what's inside that counts' because they won't even care what's inside when you give them a gift that looks this perfect! Let me know if you use any of these tips in the comments below, or feel free to share your own gift wrapping tips!

Dear Santa | My Christmas Wish List

Every year I struggle with what I would like for Christmas to the point where my parents have to hassle me quite a lot to actually get me to tell them what I want, haha! So today I thought I would write a quick post where I share some of the things that I've finally thought up to put on my Christmas list. I hope you guys are enjoying the Christmas season so far by the way and that you're loving my Christmas posts! Tomorrow is my last day off before Christmas eve so you can imagine how Christmas-y I'm feeling right now... I also start work at 4am every day for a week - I hate working in retail over Christmas! So I'm trying my best to make the most of the festivity and I really can't wait until Christmas eve! I also need to try and squeeze the rest of my Christmas shopping into my schedule at some point which is why this post is quite a short one, so apologies about that! But yeah, I hope you enjoy my wish list, let me know if you would love to see some of these bits under your tree or feel free to add your own wish lists down below in the comments!

Struggles Everyone Understands At Christmas

Don't get me wrong, Christmas is my favourite time of the year! Full of family and lights and cosy evenings tucked under a blanket.. it really is the most wonderful time of the year! But we all know it does come with its stresses and struggles, particularly when it comes to present giving! I am especially feeling the stress this year, having to tackle university deadlines and working in retail (don't even get me started on working in retail at Christmas, that's a whole other blog post.. maybe next year, haha!) - you can only imagine my breath of relief on Christmas eve when I can actually forget about all that and genuinely enjoy Christmas. But yes, my relatable 'struggles series' seems to go down well every time so I thought I would write a new one all about relatable Christmas struggles since I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling the stress this December! I do hope you're all having a lovely December so far though... despite the stress! Let me know if you can relate to any of these struggles and also feel free to add your own in the comments below, I would love to read them.

20 Things To Do This Winter | My Christmas Bucket List

It's winter and I am stressed. I feel like Christmas just brings stress, it's inevitable really - my bank balance is low, work is getting super busy and the dreading uni deadlines are all approaching rapidly! But Christmas is a time to feel festive and I definitely don't want to dwell on the stress so the best way to take your mind off of the stress is to do Christmas-y things and start feeling festive again. So I've complied a list of 20 festive things I want to do on the run to Christmas in a effort to feel Christmas-y and forget about the stress. I did one of these for Autumn too actually, so if you want to have a read of that bucket list you can click here! Is it just me though or has this December been one of the quickest months ever?! Like Christmas is approaching at top speed and I've only just adjusted to the fact that it's December... let alone the fact that it's pretty much 2017 soon! Anyways, enough of that, haha! Here's my bucket list, I hope you enjoy! Also, feel free to add your own bucket list ideas for Christmas in the comments below.

Gift Guide | 15 Stocking Fillers Under £15*

I'm sure a lot of you are in full blown Christmas shopping mode by now but I always feel like every year I seem to hit a brick wall half way through my Christmas shopping and I just run out of ideas of what to get people and end up accidentally buying things for myself... that's where all the gift guides come in! I have definitely spent so much time over the last couple of days reading as many gift guides as possible and just browsing through all the different ideas for what to get your loved ones for Christmas! One thing that I definitely love reading through are stocking filler ideas since stockings are such a good idea, I don't know about you but I definitely prefer to receive lots of little presents at Christmas time! So I thought I would jump onto that band wagon and write my own stocking filler gift guide. (I actually wrote one last year, but as per usual it's cringey as anything.. you can click here and have a cringe and read it if you want though, haha!) My gift guide includes 15 stocking fillers under £15 so you definitely have no excuses when it comes to gift ideas now, most of them are more suited for the lovely ladies in your life though, since I always find girls easier and more fun to buy for - but I have tried to cater for a wide age range so you can get inspiration for your Mum, Grandma and younger sister all in one place! I'm hoping to also do a regular gift guide too, at some point in the near future, so if you're still looking for more inspiration pop back soon or follow me on twitter to keep updated!

Christmas Decorating Haul (feat. John Lewis, Matalan, Asda)

All of my autumn decorations have well and truly been stored away.. which makes me a little sad, but it's okay because we all know what that means.... the Christmas box is out! Buying decorations for your tree and to make the house super festive is definitely just as fun as putting it all up and actually decorating the house in my opinion! Unfortunately, I bought a lot of my decorations for Christmas last year so I didn't have to go on a full Christmas shopping spree like last year, but that definitely did not stop me from buying a little bit too much... but who doesn't want to full on decorate their house and make it into a grotto at Christmas?! I have to say, I am so happy with all the decorations I picked out this year and how they all fit with last years decorations so I thought I would do a quick little haul to share a few of the bits I picked out this year (and a few of the bits from last year too - I did do a haul on this last Christmas but it's so outdated and cringey.. you can read it here if you really want to!) So yeah, here is my little haul -  annoyingly I've forgotten where most of the bits are from (it was a while ago that I bought it!) but most of it is from Asda, Matalan and John Lewis so if you're still looking to make your house a winter wonderland, look no further than all those places, haha!

DIY Christmas Potpourri

There's nothing more festive than a sweet smelling orange am I right?! Just to add to that festive feeling, I was actually really inspired to do this from watching vlogmas (which I am SERIOUSLY loving so far by the way... it never fails to get me feeling Christmas-y!) but yeah, I was completely inspired by Tanya Burr's vlogmas where she was making Christmas wreaths and although I don't think I'm quite skilled enough to make a wreath just yet, I thought I might have a go at making the little dried oranges that went on her wreath and what better way to display that than in a pot - and there you have potpourri, haha! I haven't actually DIY-ed anything on this blog before (to be honest I haven't really DIY-ed much in my life!) but this was quite a simple little DIY and I'm glad with the way it turned out - so if I can do it, you can do it! Potpourri really is the best way to get your house smelling festive though by the way, not only when it's cooking but also when you put all the bits together in a little pot. We've got our sat on the coffee table and it smells like Christmas and I LOVE IT! So I thought I would share this little DIY, it's super super easy, all you need is a little patience and you too can have the best smelling house this Christmas, haha!

Update #12 | Is It Socially Acceptable To Listen To Christmas Music Yet?!

As I mentioned in my recent favourites post, I still can't quite believe that it is December and that Christmas is literally around the corner! I don't even know if I'm excited yet either, because Christmas coming quickly means that my dissertation deadline is also coming quickly and I've hardly even started it properly yet if I'm honest... ugh! I am however embracing the fact that I can now loudly play Christmas music without the guilt... right?! My tree is also up, in an effort to feel more festive and I've worked out that Christmas shopping is a brilliant, guilt-free way of procrastinating (I don't have to feel guilty if I'm buying presents for other people, right?! Haha!) But yeah, I thought I would write a quick update post since I haven't done one in while - it's also a great way to start off my Christmas posts, since I thought I would also share a few sneak peeks of what to expect this year! So yeah, let me know what you've been up to recently in the comments and I hope you enjoy this quick update!

Honey, Garlic Chicken + Veggies | Hearty Slow Cooker Meal

It's finally December which means the slow cooker in well and truly out! We've been having hearty slow cooker meals for the majority of Autumn now, adding some sort of casserole or stew onto our weekly meal plan each week - and I can't get enough! Hearty meals are perfect for the run up to Christmas because they warm you up and they're just so comforting and yummy, they're also super easy since you can literally just chuck most of the ingredients into the pot and just leave it to do it's thing - perfect for busy days wrapping presents and online Christmas shopping, haha! I came across this recipe a few weeks ago when I was browsing for more inspiration with my slow cooker meals and I knew I just had to try it out for myself - I'm not going to lie, it was DELICIOUS, so I knew I had to share it with you! I'm not the biggest fan of soy sauce or honey, but it turned out so so good and it's definitely one to add to my little recipe book! If you try this out for yourself be sure to let me know, also feel free to share your own slow cooker recipes in the comments - I would love to read more and get more inspiration!

November Favourites

Um, It's December. When did that happen?! My brain hasn't actually registered the fact that I need to start feeling Christmas-y yet so the past few week has just been me planning Christmas posts for December whilst also being in denial about the fact that those posts are literally being published in like a week... it's insane! My Christmas tree is up though - I wasn't planning on putting it up until December, but my Facebook memories showed me that I put my tree up a year ago and I couldn't resist, haha! But yeah, you can obviously expect so so many Christmas posts coming up including, my Christmas decorating, Christmas baking and gift guides with some collaborations from lovely companies that I can't wait to share with you, so get excited for all of that and be prepared to feel festive! But anyway, back to today - this months favourites is very winter-y actually, I guess I have been getting into the spirit of winter and Christmas for the entire month of November.. sorry Autumn! So I hope you enjoy these favourites and let me know what your favourites have been this month in the comments!

40 Blogmas Post Ideas

It's about to get all Christmas-y on the blog! It's that time of year again... where the bloggers of the world start to gather all things festive and red and sparkly and start planning their post ideas for Christmas! It is honestly just around the corner and I can't believe how fast it's coming up - I'm even starting to get panic-y about my Christmas shopping, but I'm also getting very excited and the Michael Buble Christmas album is well and truly out! (But strictly through headphones so my neighbours don't think I'm weird, haha!) So I've spent quite a lot of my November brainstorming some ideas for my Christmas posts, unfortunately I won't be able to Blogmas because of work and my dissertation... I mean and the fact that I definitely could not do it! Like serious respect to all the bloggers out there who do Blogmas because you deserve it! So I though for today's post I would share a few of my favourite Blogmas post ideas, because Bloggers help each other out, right?! So for all of you out there who are taking part in Blogmas or for the ones like me, who can't commit to a post everyday but will for sure be writing tonnes of Christmas posts in December here's a few ideas for you to pinch! I hope you enjoy, also feel free to add your own ideas in the comments.

Birthday Cupcakes

So, my blog had a birthday! In case you missed that exciting post, you can click here! I obviously had to be a cliche blogger and make a cupcake (or 12... haha!) and stick a candle in it for the blog photo, but I'm super happy with how that post turned out.. as soppy as it was! And as promised in that post here I am sharing the recipe with you lot! Because birthday cupcakes aren't just for blog birthdays. They're perfect as an alternative for a big birthday cake, you could even pop them onto a cake stand for ultimate cuteness - haha! I don't know, there's something about a single candle in a cupcake that's super cute and I think I'd be pretty happy if someone made that for me, so you should definitely go out and make them for all your friends, haha! But yeah, I haven't done a baking post in a REALLY long time, so this is long overdue - I actually have a few planned baking posts coming up, including a savoury meal which I am super excited to share, so get excited for that. And obviously Christmas is coming up, so you can definitely expect some more baking in the next month... Look at me sticking to my goals I made in my Sh*t I Want To Get Done post!

Here's To One Year | Happy 1st Blog Birthday!

Okay, first things first I've been waiting to take that little cake picture for an entire year, I'm not even kidding! Honestly, I never really thought that I would make it far enough with my blog to be able to celebrate it's first birthday, but here I am one year in and still loving it! It sounds so cringey but having this blog has been kind of amazing, it's improved my writing, made me more confident and given me a community of lovely people who will always been there if I need them! Yes, it's been tough at times and I've definitely had moments when I wanted to just give up and forget about blogging but it's become part of my life now... I genuinely don't know what I would do if I didn't have to take blog photos and share bits of my life every other day! So to celebrate one year of blogging I thought I would do a bit of reflection on the past, I wanted to share a few of my old favourite posts with you lot (including my first ever post, which is the cringey-est thing..) and share a few memories along the way! Also, if you're here for the cupcake, I'm putting up a post on Saturday with the recipe and tonnes more pictures (I obviously made 12 just to be sure I had a good one for this photo... *wink*) so come back on Saturday for that, or keep updated on my Twitter!

You're So Shy.

''You're So Shy'' is something that I've heard a lot throughout my life, as a socially awkward and anxious person. In the past this would make me feel really quite bad about myself and sometimes really hurt me . Actually, in most cases it makes the situation ten times worse - like what do they think, they can say 'you're so shy' and then I'll suddenly start being so confident and outgoing, sorry that's not how it works! I guess it would make me feel genuinely hurt because society paints such a negative picture when it comes to shyness, being shy is something to feel ashamed about, we're made to feel like we're just socially awkward and like the one who isn't making an effort or be outgoing. But, recently I've been trying to take a different approach to shyness because being shy shouldn't  be seen as a negative thing, it's just a part of my personality and it makes me who I am. When you actually get to know a shy person you begin to realise that there are actually so many amazing things that come with being a shy person, so I thought I would share some of those with you today. If you're a shy person like me after you read this I hope that in the future if you hear those words 'you're so shy' instead of feeling hurt or ashamed you can just smile and be proud, because shyness is actually a pretty amazing trait to have!

When You Run Out Of Ideas

I feel like every blogger has been there at some point, you know that moment when you sit down to write your next blog post and you're just empty, you have no ideas and you don't know what to blog about. Before you know it you're post is due to be published and you're still too busy browsing BooHoo or watching vlogs! Don't get me wrong though, there are definitely times when I've got ideas coming out at all angles, luckily this seems to be me at the moment and I've planned most of my posts up until the New Year! But I've definitely been there and it can be so frustrating when you run out of inspiration because I always feel like it makes me want to avoid blogging altogether - if I'm all dried up when it comes to ideas, why bother?! But we shouldn't feel this way, since at the end of the day blogging is supposed to be fun, so I've decided to share a few of my own tips for when you've run out of ideas. If you're feeling like this at the moment, don't let it get to you - just keep going and you'll get over the slump and ideas will come to you again soon enough, trust me! Let me know in the comments if you do any of these things too and also feel free to add your own tips.

6 Struggles All Autumn Lovers Will Understand

I've said it enough this season already but I am a huge Autumn lover a it's not winter yet, so I am desperately holding onto the last seconds of Autumn before everyone goes Christmas crazy. Okay fine, I have gone a little bit Christmas-y already and I do end up getting a toasted marshmallow hot chocolate from Costa pretty much daily! But yeah, as I've said about a million times over the past 3 months, I love everything about Autumn, the cosiness, the colours, the candles! .... Well ALMOST everything, because there definitely are some struggles that us Autumn lovers have to go through every year when our favourite season comes around! So I thought I would share a few of these struggles with you lot today, let me know if you relate to some of these too, since even though we all love Autumn so much, we do have to admit that there are some stresses that come along with the season too! I also have a new tag for all of my 'struggles' series where I share all my posts where I talk about all of the relatable struggles we go through - you can click here to go to the tag if you haven't already read my other 'struggles' posts!

Picture Perfect | My Picture Collage Wall

After three months of blank bedroom walls (who am I kidding our entire house has blank walls right now... apparently we're both too busy to put up a few pictures.. just don't question it!) I finally made Ethan get out his tools and put up the picture wall (I have zero DIY skills, so...) I've been dying to get up since we went to Brighton and bought the first couple of pictures for it. (that was back in July... like seriously?! - you can read the post where I did a haul of some of those pictures here) Well, it's FINALLY up and I posted a little picture of it on my Twitter and people seemed to like it! So I've decided to do a little post about my picture wall - a tour if ya like, where I tell you a little bit about each print and let you know where I bought them.. blah! I really love it and I'm so happy with the way it turned out.. I just keep staring at it every time I walk past, it's kind of creepy actually! But I hope you like it too and find this post interesting, there's a little story that goes with most of these to be honest - so hopefully this post will actually be a bit interesting at least, haha, it also means that not only does the wall look really cute but I also get reminded of some of the cute memories too! Let me know what your favourite picture is in the comments below and I hope you enjoy!

The Truth About Being An Adult

I've been an adult for almost 4 years now (first off, ew! I hate calling myself an adult, since I definitely don't feel like one!) and although it's kind of gone by in a blur we all know it's not easy! As children we can't wait to grow up, we want to move out, become independent and most of all make out own decisions on how we live our lives - we don't want to answer to our parents anymore! But being an adult isn't all fun and games, you realise being able to make the decisions isn't always as good as it sounds and sometimes we all want to be looked after by our parents again! Since moving out 3 years ago I definitely came across a fair few of these adulting struggles that made me change my mind just a smidgen on wanting to be responsible for myself.. okay it's not that bad! But there are definitely times where I wish I was younger again and I could just worry about homework and the little dramas we all used to have about boys, haha! Anyways, for today's post I thought I would share a few of the truths about being an adult, hopefully some of my fellow adults out there can relate to some of these! Let me know if you agree with any and also add your own struggles in the comments below! Also, I've had to type this out twice because stupid blogger deleted it the first time and I've also got a huge case of the Monday's so bare with me!!

Sh*t I Want To Get Done By The End Of The Year | 2016

I hate to wish away the year (especially since I have such a love for Christmas and I never ever want it to end!) but truth is, the end of the year is coming and there's nothing we can do about it! I'm not really one for resolutions, mainly because I'm terrible for sticking to things, I mean this year I vowed to go running three times a week which lasted around a week, then I said I would get fitter by using my cross trainer for 30 minutes a day, that lasted around 2 weeks! There was also that time that I drank a smoothie a day and tried to cut chocolate out of my diet - but you can imagine how that went! Basically, I'm not really the goal type, since I always change my mind on what I want to achieve and what I want to actually succeed in... I just get bored easily! Also, that's not to say that I haven't achieved loads this year that I should be proud of, I mean I just hit 4,000 on Twitter so that's definitely something I should celebrate! But regardless, there are still things that I need to get done by the end of the year - whether I call them 'goals' or not, and I obviously would love to say that I've achieved things by the end of this year! So I've decided to share some of these 'not goals' with you lot, since writing them down is the first step to helping me get them done basically, also it might inspire some of you out there to make your own list of sh*t you need to get done this year, haha!

Update #11 | Flushed Cheeks & Crisp Leaves

It's so cliche but Autumn has kind of been a blur and I don't want to say it but.. you know... the big C is pretty much just around the corner! I have definitely started thinking about Christmas presents already and I keep wondering whether it's socially acceptable to listen to Christmas music yet so I feel like Autumn is pretty much coming to an end already! Obviously Winter doesn't officially start until December but when you walk to work at 5:30am when it's freezing cold and cars are iced over - it definitely feels like winter already! I have actually had a pretty good Autumn filled with many chilly beach walks, plenty of toasted marshmallow hot chocolates from Costa coffee and pumpkin EVERYTHING! Not to mention, plenty of baths, burgundy nails and cosy evenings in with my blanket! So, I thought I would write a new update post where I could share a few of my favourite memories of this Autumn! Let me know what you've been up to this Autumn in the comments - I would love to know!

How To | Manage Your Time (+ be a blogger, student and part time worker!)

Okay, yes. I understand this post is kind of ironic because of the fact that I'm literally writing it on the day that it's due to go up but no ones perfect and I guess it just shows that we all have times where our time management isn't at its best, just like how at times we are completely on the ball with our to-do lists and we have the most productive week! The main reason why sometimes my time management isn't at it's best is because I'm genuinely busy - I work part time, I'm a student, I at least try to have a social life and I try and get up posts every other day so in reality I do have quite a busy schedule... That's not to say I don't spend my days off slothing about and procrastinating because I definitely do have those days! But anyways, I thought for this post I would share a couple of time management tips, not only for people who are juggling a job and a blog or students who also have part time jobs but basically for anyone who has a busy schedule and needs a couple of tips to get them through this busy time! I hope you enjoy, feel free to share any more tips you might have in the comments below!

It's All Essentials, I Promise! | BooHoo & ASOS Haul

I've made a couple of purchases recently... that's definitely something that I'm loving about having a job this year at uni, I can actually afford things that I want. But I'm probably going to have to stop that soon since (not to worry anyone or anything) but there is only one more paycheck until Christmas... this hasn't quite sunk in yet for me I don't think (she says, after just buying a new pair of boots...) but yes, I will definitely need to get into the spirit of buying present now and stop buying things for myself, oops! Anyway, the damage is done so I thought I would share a few of my recent clothing purchases - most of it is very cold weather based and I really like watching/reading clothing hauls this time of year to see what cosy, oversized jumpers people have bought, so I thought I would return the favour, haha! This is also a brilliant excuse by the way - buying more jumpers is definitely essential as I wouldn't want to get cold this Autumn, right?!  I'm always kind of put off by clothing hauls because it takes me like 5 years to figure out how to take a good photo of all of my purchases (let's be honest, laying clothes out on the floor never turns out well - unless you're a professional clothing layer outer.. haha) that's why the photo for this post turned out the way it did and I couldn't really give you much insight into what I've bought! BUT I've set it out pretty much in the same style as my last boohoo haul post (which was way too long ago by the way!) so if you want to actually see each item instead of just reading my crappy explanation of what things look like just click the links.. this is also a great way of you being able to buy it straight away.. because I'm such an enabler.. hehe! Let me know what your favourite item is from this haul in the comments below and here's the haul!

The Ultimate Autumn Playlist

Back in July I wrote a post where I shared some of the songs I was listening to during the summer and it seemed to go down pretty well, so here I am sharing my Autumn playlist and showing you what songs I will be listening to this Autumn whilst snuggled up with a blanket, a candle and a hot chocolate haha! So I have devised a list of songs that I have been loving so far this Autumn, I've tried to add a few that have that cosy vibe that we're all looking for when it gets colder, but there are also a few Halloween ones in there as I'm not quite over Halloween yet, haha! And to be honest I have been listening to those Halloween songs since the end of September! I added quite a few from the charts at the moment as I have been loving the charts recently but as with my Summer playlist there are definitely a few throwbacks in there too, so I'm hoping there'll be something in there for everyone! Let me know what you favourite song on this list is and also, if I've missed any of your favourite songs this Autumn - I would love to add more to my Spotify playlist!

Beauty Haul & Honest Review | feat. Morphe, Makeup Revolution & Lush

I don't very often spend money on beauty bits and bobs, so I thought it was about time that I had a little beauty splurge! As I mentioned in my recent post (Every Day Makeup | Autumn) the transition in makeup from Summer to Autumn is the best time of year for me, so I went out with the intention of finding a few eyeshadow palettes that had a lot of burgundy colours, berry reds and purples. After trying and failing to get the Kylie Jenner burnundy palette (surprise, it's out of I ended up on Superdrug and went a bit mad, haha! So I definitely couldn't pass up doing a little haul for the blog! (Definitely my excuse for spending too much money, haha!) It's also sort of turned into a review post too, since I've  put off writing this post for almost a month and I've ended up using everything! So here you go! Here's a few bits that I've bought recently, from Lush, Superdrug and Morphe! Also, let me know in the comments if you know of any eyeshadow palettes that feature a lot of berry reds and purples because I am definitely still on the lookout - you can never have enough, haha!

October Favourites

It's finally Halloween and I don't know if I'm happy about that or not! I always put so much into Halloween (since it's my favourite time of year after Christmas!) that come November 1st I feel a bit empty, haha! I hope I'm not the only one who feels that way... is that weird?! Probably! I actually can't believe that it's pretty much November! It's getting colder, the heating is on pretty much 24/7, it's basically winter and that makes me sad because my favourite season is nearly over! I hope you've all had a lovely October though, full of pumpkin carving, Hocus Pocus and Halloween costume anxiety, haha! I have certainly had all of those things, actually as I'm writing this I'm very aware that I haven't fully sorted out my Halloween costume yet - you wouldn't think that I am one of those people that starts deciding their outfit at the end of September, would you!? Anyways, I've had a fair few new obsessions this month (as I do every month!) so here's my latest favourites! Let me know in the comments what you've been obssessed with this month! Also, as it's Halloween, let me know what your plans are for tonight and whether or not you're dressing up!

30 Last Minute DIY Halloween Costume Ideas

Not to worry you but Halloween is in two days... what?! You still haven't decided what you're dressing up as?! Don't worry, I've got you covered! If you're not like me and you didn't have your Halloween costume picked out and made/bought before the 1st of October (I just get too excited okay.. lol!) you don't need to worry, there are plenty of amazing last minute costumes that you can probably make using clothes you already have in your wardrobe! So, for all you last minute people out there I've made a list of 30 DIY costumes that you can definitely put together before Halloween - now you have no excuse to not dress up! I hope you enjoy this list of costumes, let me know in the comments what your favourite costume from the list is/what you're being for Halloween this year - I'm going as a vampire! Also, if you're feeling Halloween-y be sure to check out my other Halloween posts including the Halloween Tag post, where I talk about Halloween memories and my favourite scary movies and my Pumpkin Carving Party post where I show you the little party that I hosted for my friends where we carved pumpkins and did all things Halloween-y!

Update #10 | Pumpkin Carving Party!

We're finally on the run up to Halloween and obviously I am absolutely buzzing! As I mentioned in my last post Halloween is definitely one of my favourite times of year for so many reasons! One of those reasons being you get to carve pumpkins whilst eating all the chocolate you want and no one can tell you to stop, haha! I combined both of these things with little pumpkin carving 'party' that I organised for two of my close friends and Ethan, I know it's pretty early for pumpkins (and actually we did this more than a week ago!) but it's the only day where we all had a day off so! It's actually becoming a sort of annual thing since we've now done it three years running so hopefully we get to do it for many more years! Obviously pumpkin carving and a spooky buffet calls for so many photos, so I decided to share a couple of snaps from the day in this post and let you guys know what we got up to! Also, Let me know if you have any traditions that you love doing on Halloween, I would love to know.

Spooky Halloween Tag

Halloween is for sure one of my favourite times of the year, you get an excuse to dress up in really random clothes that you wouldn't normally wear, you can eat all the sweets and chocolate you want without the guilt and you get to binge watch Hocus Pocus over and over and no one can stop you! As you can probably tell I am getting pretty excited about Halloween now! I've already carved a pumpkin, (I've got an entire post about that out soon!) I've already got my two costumes made and ready, I've already eaten my fair share of chocolate and it's still a week until the actual day - oops! But anyways, to get even more into the spirit (not that I need it - also pun not intended, lol!) I decided to do a little tag post, I've made up all these questions myself but feel free to answer them all yourself in your own blog or answer a few in the comments below! Also, please let me know if you're as excited as me about Halloween - or am I the only one...? Probably!

Lazy Sundays | My Typical Sunday

Now that I'm back at University, I still work part-time and I also aim to get blog posts up every other day you can imagine that my week gets pretty busy. To be honest, I do love being busy, especially when it comes to blogging since I love being creative with writing down my little thoughts and taking photos so I don't mind TOO much! Even so, often at times it does feel like I don't really get much time off, but obviously I do make sure to have some me-time every now and again just to relax and refresh! Sundays have pretty much become my one day off where I give myself that time to de-stress and and put my to-do list aside - and I definitely make sure that I don't need to leave the house unless absolutely necessary... (this means I don't have to leave my pyjamas or my bed, haha!) So today I decided to share my typical Sunday with you guys and just share some of the things that I enjoy doing on a typical day off!

New Homeware & Decor | Decorating For Autumn

So, as you guys may or may not know, I moved house last September - if you missed it you can read all about that here if you like. Obviously, the best part about moving house is getting to decorate and go shopping for all the homeware and knick knacks and when we lived in the flat we never really decorated the place properly, so moving into this house was like a completely fresh start...So you can imagine the excitement I felt when it was time to go shopping for all the homely bits! Also, I was very lucky that it was just coming up to Autumn when I went shopping for these bits so a lot of my decorations at the moment are very Autumnal and seasonal! My first port of call was obviously Home Sense (aka: the!) so a lot of the bits I picked up are from there but also we stopped in Asda because they actually have some really lovely bits in there too! So yeah, here are a few of the homeware pieces I've bought recently, I obviously haven't taken pictures of everything because that would've just taken bloody ages, but I've tried to add a link to something that's at least similar if you're interested in seeing what the bits actually look like!

Every Day Makeup | Autumn

The transition from Summer into Autumn is probably my favourite time of year, not only the transition in weather (because let's face it, we're all bored of the heat by mid August.. even if we don't get much sun here in the UK!) or the transition in clothing from pastels and strappy tops to burgundys and oranges and oversized jumpers. Mainly I love the transition in makeup! I must admit, now that I have to wake up at 5:15am for work I really can't ever be bothered to do my makeup and I've barely worn any for the last couple of months, but trust me since the weather has been getting colder and we've been getting further into Autumn I haven't been able to stay away from my Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette! I feel like Autumn is the best time to experiment with different makeup trends and get a little bit out of your comfort zone, whether you want to try out a more dark, vampy look or go for a bolder lip colour - you can't really go wrong! So I recently realised that I've never really shared my every day makeup routine with you lot, and since my Autumn makeup routine is a just slightly more interesting than every other time of year, I thought now would be the best time to finally write this post! (I also haven't written a makeup post in bloody ages, so it's about time!) Also, let me know what makeup you are wearing this Autumn down in the comments, I definitely need an excuse to go out and buy new makeup, haha!

What I'll Be Wearing This Autumn | Autumn Style Picks

I am in no way a fashion blogger... in fact, when it comes to clothes most of the time I just chuck whatever on and hope for the best! I really am pretty lazy with fashion most of the time and I tend to wear the same staple items for each season of the year, but I feel like Autumn is definitely my best season for buying and wearing loads of new and different clothes and also for getting out of my comfort zone a little bit - especially when it comes to colours, since I tend to go for black, whites and greys most of the year, haha! There are obviously so many clothing essentials when it comes to Autumn, from boots to scarves to oversized jumpers and I wanted to share some of my favourite pieces that I think are vital for this time of year! Let me know if you agree with my picks for this season and also tell me if I missed anything from my list that you love wearing this time of year, I'd love to know!

Autumn Essentials

You're probably all bored of hearing this but clearly I can't say it enough... Autumn is my favourite season! And although in my own little world Autumn has been upon us for at least a month already, now that the shops are all stocking pumpkins and even Christmas bits I feel like I can properly unleash the true excitement I have about Autumn.. haha! So yes I am for sure getting out the fluffy socks, sticking on a bit of Hocus Pocus and getting cosy with my pumpkin scented candles! Now, during Autumn there are a number of essentials that are absolutely necessary to live the season to the fullest, to feel the most festive and the most Autumnal! I've decided to write this little post just to let you guys know what a few of my Autumn essentials are this year! Let me know if you agree with any of the things on my list and also comment if I've missed anything out that you definitely need to have the best Autumn, haha!

20 Things To Do This Autumn | My Autumn Bucket List

Autumn has been pretty hectic so far, trying to balance working 3 mornings a week with uni, a blog, writing putting off my dissertation and at least attempting to have a social life is proving to be pretty stressful actually and I haven't really been able to enjoy Autumn as much as I would like to.. I mean it is my favourite season after all! So I thought I would write out a quick Autumn to-do list to get me more in the mood for the season and spending time do more Autumn-y things...haha! Otherwise, it'll be over before I know it and I won't even have carved a pumpkin and that would be pretty terrible...omg imagine! I hope my list will also inspire you all to go out and do some of these things, let me know in the comments if you have any plans to do anything I hope to do! Also, let me know if you're doing anything that I haven't mentioned because I would love to be inspired too!

The Things I Love About Autumn

Get out your cinnamon scented candles and put on your oversized, chunky knit scarf because it is officially starting to feel like Autumn... Believe it or not I am actually loving the fact that it's starting to get a little colder now because it genuinely feels so Autumnal out there, the leaves are starting to go brown and gah, I love it! As you may be able to tell by my over-enthusiasm towards a bloody season... Autumn is by far my favourite time of year and there are so many things I love about it so I thought I would share a few for this little post so we can all get super excited whilst we get cosy with a hot chocolate and watch Hocus Pocus! You don't understand the joy it actually gave me to go on this cute little Autumn walk with Ethan though... Obviously it was purely for my blog and we HAD to go just to get some photos of crunchy Autumn leaves lol... but oh my lord did it make me feel so Autumn-y and festive! Right, so here they are, my favourite things about Autumn. Let me know if you love any of these things too and also comment if I've missed anything else that you love!

Lush Christmas 2016

So, I had a bit of a Lush splurge... Christmas is by far my favourite range that Lush brings out, as I am sure it is for a lot of you out there! And so every year I go out and I spend a littttle bit too much in Lush, but it's okay because I love it all and I love having baths in Autumn/Winter and gah! I must admit I went a little overboard this year, but they have so many cute things and I can't wait to use them all and feel super festive again!! (Is it too early for that... nah!) I actually went shopping with my Mum which was lovely, we obviously ended up in Lush and it made me feel so festive because one of the ladies in there used all the Snow Fairy products on my hands (including the new Snow Fairy body conditioner - which is amazing by the way, espeically if you want a more subtle smelling version of Snow Fairy, since it isn't quite as sickly sweet as the shower gel.. I didn't actually pick this one up though as I had already done enough damage, but I might just have to go and get it before Christmas is over!) I wanted to just pick up a few bits, but well that didn't really happen - but I've justified it because I had to throw away a load of old bath bombs that were lost to water damage. I don't know what it is about my new bathroom or shower, but I'm storing all my lush bits in exactly the same way and they're all going crumbly and weird, so I'm definitely going to start storing them in my bedroom instead where they are safe! I also missed my local Lush Christmas launch because of work so I treated myself to a few festive bits! Also, I know this is super early to be getting festive and talking about Christmas.. I mean it is October at the end of the day, so if you're not feeling Christmas-y enough just yet they you can click here to see what I recently got from the Halloween range (and a few other online exclusives!) since Halloween is just around the corner and Sparkly Pumpkin is just amazing, seriously if you haven't smelt it already.. you just have to!

*Just so you know, I only picked up a selection of the bubble bars in the collection, since these are the bits I love the most - this is definitely not the full collection, you can click here to see everything including, bath bombs, soaps and more!

Berry Nails & Bubble Bars | The Autumn Tag

Autumn is by far my favourite season, despite being defeated by a cold only a few weeks in to the season I actually really love the cold weather - there's just something about wrapping up warm in a cosy, chunky scarf! So I thought I would do a quick tag because I love doing them, they're simple and easy and to be honest that's what I need right now, what with this cold! Also, October has been a busy month for me so far - I'm around 2 weeks into university and I still feel like I'm super disorganised and that I haven't actually started the course yet.. oops! I swear I actually haven't sat down a relaxed in about 5 days (this is why there has been a lack of posts.. but we won't mention that.. haha!) Basically I am definitely in need of a lush bath, preferably a Sparkly Pumpkin lush bath... Right, I'm going to answer these questions now, if you want to answer these on your own blog be sure to link me to all your answers or you can just write down a few of your own answers in the comments as I would love to read them!

Autumn Lush Haul (+ a few bits from the halloween range!)

It's that time of year again where Lush basically becomes my life and I spend every waking hour in the bath with some sort of cinammon scented bubble bar.. and I freaking can't wait! I actually haven't made that many lush orders this year so far but you can bet me and the delivery man who drops off my lush parcels will be on a first name basis come Christmas, haha! Speaking of Christmas... I actually ordered this little haul before the Christmas range came out, so don't worry, I haven't forgotten about it and I will for sure be doing a Christmas haul at some point in the near future, so get excited! I was actually planning on going to the Christmas launch in my local Lush this week but work overran by so much that I completely missed it.. so as you can guess I was not a happy bunny in the slightest, but I definitely can't wait to make a Christmas order soon! But anyways, this Autumn haul obviously features a few bits from the Halloween range (which I always love every single year!) I didn't buy everything from the range, since I'm not the biggest fan of bath bombs, but you can click here to see the whole range! I also got a few bits from the online exclusive range, since I've pretty much tried and smelled everything in my local store and I wanted to try something completely new, so if you want to try these out for yourselves definitely get an online order! Also, can we just talk about how, in the online orders, they include a cute little polaroid of lush kitchen actually making a few of your products... how cool is that!? Also, let me know in the comments what your favourite bits from the Halloween range are and also tell me how much you also love sparkly pumpkin.. because I can't get enough of it, haha!

How To | Survive University (+ University Tag)

Yes I know, this post is pretty late considering Freshers week is now well and truly over and all the new students have most likely settled in... But still, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to write a University post since now that I'm in third year I like to think that I have experienced enough to pass on a little bit of advice! So yeah, I decided to write a post sharing some tips about university that I thought were quite important to pass on, not only to the new freshers but also to anyone, whether you're in third year or thinking of going to uni in a few years. I also did a little University tag that was created by the lovely Alice Thorpe, aka ohhitsonlyalice (who's University videos I have been obsessing over recently - so if you're in the mood for some more University advice or vlogs that show a typical day at University definitely check out her YouTube channel here! Or you can check out her answers to the questions here!) I hope you find these tips helpful, if you think I've missed anything important feel free to comment down below and if you're a new student let me know if you're enjoying university so far!

September Favourites

I say it every month, but honestly September has been and gone in a complete blur! Like, where did it actually go!? I had to honestly double check to make sure I wasn't actually supposed to be writing my August favourites instead... I've moved house, started uni and now I'm starting to get back into the swing of things with blogging again and I'm so excited for things to get back into a relaxed routine like it was months ago, haha! I honestly haven't had much time to sort out what my favourites are this month (but let's be honest, when do I ever plan my favourites in!) and I've obviously done a lot of homeware shopping for the new house, so I haven't really bought or loved anything else this month. Speaking of which, if you're interested in seeing more homeware bits and bobs let me know and I'll do a homeware haul of some kind, probably featuring a lot of autumnal bits as I am definitely now starting to get into autumn and everything burgundy and orange and cinnamon and pumpkin!! Anywho, here is my very very last minute September favourites, I hope you enjoy and let me know what your favourites are this month down in the comments!! Oh! Also! Apologies if the quality of the pictures looks any different, new house and new lighting definitely took its toll.. also I have a new editing programme so I don't know what that's like... also, I think I messed around with the settings on my camera.. so yeah! Let me know what you think, haha!

Update #9 | Saying Goodbye To My First House

First up, yes I am back again. Ugh, the struggle has well and truly been real. I'm hoping I'm now back for good though, since I now have my new laptop and every actually seems to be working for once!! Just know that you can definitely expect more posts from now on, if not every other day! Yay, that makes me so excited - I've genuinely missed the blogging life so so much! I am also back at uni tomorrow though so we'll see how excited I am once the reality of coursework and the dreaded 'd word' (dissertation!!!) sets in! But yeah anyway, it happened, I finally moved house! I've actually been moved for a few weeks now (it's a long, boring story that's consists of one broken computer and one empty bank account!!) and I'm definitely still unpacking all of these bloody boxes that just never seem to end! Everything is starting to have a home though and stress levels are gradually decreasing, thank God for that!

Update #8 | Cornwall Holiday Snaps

I genuinely just let out a huge sigh before I started writing this post; two weeks ago I was sitting out in the Cornish sunshine with a glass of wine and here I am back home surrounded by cardboard boxes after a long day of work.. I am having serious holiday blues. I guess it's mainly because now I know that summer is pretty much over and it's time to go back to the boring stuff like work and uni.. ugh, oh well - at least I get to break out the spiced scented candles and winter coats soon! But yes, I really did have an amazing and relaxing week away in the sunshine with my lovely family and I wanted to share a few of the many many pictures I took whilst I was away and give you a little snippet into my week! Also, if you missed my last post and want to know what else I got up to this summer click here - I promise there will be cute kittens... I'm not even kidding, haha! Now if that hasn't gotten you interested I don't know what will!

Update #7 | Candyfloss, Cats & Cocktail Sausages

I've actually had such a good summer, despite the stress - the weather has been amazing and I've finally got a bit of a tan, woo! I'm definitely starting to get the uni blues again and I'm in denial that I have to go back to referencing and lectures in a few weeks so I thought now would be a good time to reflect; and since I've always loved reading 'my summer in photos' posts I thought I would do one big update post for a few of my favourite things that I got up to this summer! Although I didn't take as many photos as I would've liked to, I had some really beautiful and enjoyable days out in the sunshine and as I promised in my last post there are a fair few pictures of cute kittens.. so that makes up for it right?! Let me know in the comments some of your favourite things that you got up to this summer as I would love to know and I hope you enjoy these cute and also really cringey pictures from my summer!

One Whole Month | Where Have I Been?!

I've been gone for one entire month and I can't even think of a witty way of starting this, so there you go! In some ways it feels like I've been gone for about a year; I've literally missed blogging so much and I've taken so many pictures and done so many things that I've wanted to share with you lot so that's definitely made this month drag on for ages and ages. But at the same time it genuinely feels like I never left - I have obviously been keeping updated on all you lovely lot's posts in the meantime so that has kept me in the blogging spirit for sure! Oh by the way, if you're sat there with no clue as to whats going on I definitely recommend clicking this link and reading this little post where I explained basically how I had a very stressful month coming up and my laptop broke and blah.. it was a lot. But that stressful month is almost over and I've survived.. so far anyways, I still have to move house so there's still time for my head to explode yet, haha! But yeah, I'm pretty sure that we're back to normal on the blogging front, my laptop is still broken but I now have an SD card reader so I can kindly ask Ethan to let me borrow his PC every now and again for now - so definitely get excited for lots of posts, I have lots of making up to do! I actually have two update posts lined up for the next few days which I am very excited about, I can't wait to share my month with you and all I can say is expect some really cute pictures of kittens...! I will also definitely be keeping you updated on the house move and all the decorating and hauls that come along with that, so if you're interested in that watch this space! Also, as you all know by now the best place to get updates on new posts is definitely my twitter, so if you're not following me already you can click here!

An Apology and A Q&A

Ugh. I so wanted to be the blogger who could say she never missed a post day. But it was inevitable, the stress was too much and I just needed that day out in the sunshine to revive myself! But I'm back, at least semi back.. my laptop is still broken, but I miss you guys so I'm doing my best! (You can read the broken laptop story and other stresses here if you really want to, haha!)I probably won't fully be back until September, but we'll just see how it goes from now really! Anyway, so if you follow me on twitter (which you should @jemmasimplelife - lets just ignore that shameless promo, haha!) you'll know that I've been asking for questions for my next Q&A and now that I've compiled a fair few I've decided today would be the best day to answer your questions! Thanks so much to everyone who tweeted me, once again your questions were fabulous! (You can read my first Q&A here) And if you missed out do be sure to keep updated with my tweets so that you can have your question answered next time!
