My Makeup Storage | Beauty Favourites 2016

A little while ago I did a post on my Vanity Table and in that post I promised to do a quick tour of my makeup storage so here it is - a quick run-down of my makeup storage! I decided to also pick out my favourite drugstore and high end makeup from each section of my drawer, because I thought you might like to know! I hope you enjoy!
Oh! Also my dividers are from Ikea - you get them in a 3(?) pack and you have to cut them to whatever size you like, they can all be put together to form little sections, I'm pretty sure they're meant for stationery dividers in office desks - but they work great for makeup too! All of my drawers are split into types of makeup and it took me and my boyfriend a good 2 weeks to try and figure out how/where we were going to put everything.. (I swear both my parents have OCD.. so I knew it had to be in me somewhere!)

All of the primers I own are drugstore (except for a few free samples) because, to be honest, I don't use them that often. However, when I do actually remember to use a primer under my makeup I normally tend to grab The Body Shop's 'All-In-One', I must admit when I use it I do feel a difference, especially in how my foundation and concealer apply. It gives you skin a smooth finish and makes your concealer look so much more natural on you skin.

I also only have drugstore concealers, but to be honest I only ever use one because it has become my holy grail - it is of course cult classic Rimmel's Wake Me Up Concealer! It's just such a great concealer, it doesn't feel cakey, it doesn't look unnatural, yet it still covers those under-eye circles. I honestly have nothing bad to say about it - apart from I want it in a HUGE size, so I never run out!

I've bought this product again and again for years now because I rather love it! I find it really difficult to find the right shade of foundation for me and whenever I branch out and buy a new foundation I always end up really orange or really pale.. But with Match Perfection I feel like I've found my perfect shade! It's not cakey and looks really natural, but at the same time can be built up to give you a full coverage - what's not to love?!

As you know I love Soap and Glory, and their makeup is no exception! This product is perfect, it sets your foundation perfectly and helps it to stay put all day. The only downside of this powder is that its quite pricey and there are many more cheaper ones out there that could probably do as good of a job. Also, I seemed to hit pan really really soon after buying this powder - I don't know if that's just because I love it so much, but I did expect it to last a little bit longer!

I featured this in my Outlet Shopping Haul post  but it really has become one of my favourites that I wear with every makeup look now. I metioned in that post that this bronzer (to me) is more of a blusher because it does have a pinky tinge (which comes up really clearly in the picture!) but I really don't mind at all - when you actually apply it, it doesn't come out that pinky. It lasts all day and really just completes my makeup look.

I feel like this one is an oldie but a goodie - this bronzer is just gorgeous all round! It applies really well and gives you a natural bronzed glow that goes perfectly with any makeup look. Oh! Did I mention this one not only looks like chocolate also smells like chocolate (*drool..!*) - all in all PERFECTION!

High End | Mac - Brun (£13)

I use Brun for my eyebrows nowadays and I love the natural look it gives my eyebrows, compared to pencils that I used in the past! I also like to use this colour as an eye shadow colour a lot of the time as it is a great colour just to stick in the corner of your eyelid to give it a bit of definition.

For eyeliner I love using felt tip styled eyeliners - I've tried and failed with everything else and I honestly don't really mind that felt tips tend to not last as long because they are so easy to apply and to do winged eyeliner with (especially if you aren't the best at eyeliner - like me!) I love most drugstore eyeliners and to be honest I just grab the one nearest to me most of the time. However, if I had to pick a favourite it would be Perfect Slim, genuinely just because I get the best winged eyeliner when I use it!

This eyeliner has been well loved and I am definitely well overdue a new one - I don't know if I can justify spending money on more eyeliners though! This is by far my favourite eyeliner of all time, I always get amazing results when I use it, it comes out so so black that doesn't fade and really does last all day! Its just perfect really!

I couldn't really go through my makeup favourites without mentioning this one as I feel like its a favourite for a lot of people. Everything about this blush is PERFECT! The colour is a subtle pink with little flecks of gold which brings such a natural flush to your cheeks! I just love everything about it!

I would say this is a pretty good dupe for Nars Orgasm if you aren't looking to spend a fortune. The colours are pretty much the same (Nars is just slightly more pinky) and they both have the same gold flecks in them! The only thing I will say is this doesn't apply quite as nicely and won't last quite as long as Nars (I mean you get what you pay for!) but all in all this is a lovely shade and is perfect for a subtle and natural glow to your cheeks!

This one was featured in my What I Got For Christmas post and I love it to PIECES! I think I've used it most days since I've got it and I really didn't know what I was missing out on before I got it! I just feel like when I put this on my cheeks it just finished off the look for me and looks PERFECT! You can make it look natural or you can really build it up for a night out look to make those cheeks look lethal (aha!) I dread the day when I run out of this because its so expensive but so worth it!

This highlight was actually a relaunch to celebrate Bourjois' 150th anniversary, so this product is a classic highlight from 1879! I love the old school packaging and OMG give this a sniff if you're ever near one because it genuinely smells like vintage makeup.. its gorgeous! This is a powder highlight so sometimes I like to put this on top of my Illamasqua highlight just to set it, but I do also love to use this highlight on its own, if I don't feel like putting a lot of work into my makeup!! (all the time..) On its own it gives you a really subtle highlight which does look rather gorgeous.. I highly recommend it!
This is another cult classic that everyone seems to love - me included! This is just a great mascara overall, it keeps my lashes curled and long all day and is so so easy to apply - its just brilliant! I don't really have anything bad to say about this one!

I don't wear a lot of lipstick but when I do I tend to stick to nudes because I feel like red and pink really don't suit me whatsoever! The best nude I've ever found is definitely by far Velvet Teddy, the colour is just so perfect and on your lips its the best subtle nude ever! Also, if you haven't already, give Mac lipstick a sniff - they smell AMAZING! (I totally spent about 20 minutes smelling this while I was taking the picture..)

Phew! That ended up being such a hefty post.. but I'm procrastinating so that makes it okay! Also, if you noticed I didn't talk about my eye shadows that's because I don't really have a favoruite eyeshadow and I honestly couldn't really choose! I might do an eyeshadow post in the future - let me know if that's something you would be interested in?

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed my little insight into my makeup storage! If you have any questions let me know below in the comments or tweet me @jemmasimplelife

  2. Your make up storage is so cute and organised! I'm so bad with keeping mine tidy and organised for much longer than a couple of weeks! (I'm getting better though!)
I've yet to try any of the products in this post, but I've been interested in trying the Velvet Teddy lipstick from Mac as I've seen a lot of people loving it and it's a pretty colour!
This is such a great selection of products and I like how there's a mixture of high end and drugstore products in your favourites!
