Don't Be Cheesy This Valentines...

So, its less than a week until Valentines Day.. and no, you won't catch me getting all excited like I did before Christmas. Call us crazy but honestly, me and my boyfriend have no plans whatsoever for Valentines Day and I doubt we'll do anything at all! To be honest we've spent nearly 4 Valentines Day's together and we've never really done much (I mean, we went to go and see Fifty Shades of Grey last year.. I bet you can't guess who's idea that was..!) In the past we've been out for meals and stuff, but we're not really into all that cheesy 5ft teddy bears and 'to the man I love' cards, so the occasion is kind of wasted on us to be honest. Anyways, so for this post I thought I would give you a quick list of things you could do for Valentines day that are as 'non-cheesy' as you can get... (not forgetting all my single ladies.. or men! Who are very welcome to do all of these things with a group of friends.. or alone.. sorry guys!)

1. Go bowling - I feel like this would be great as a group of friends or even as a couple to be honest! It's fun, you can socialise, get a bit of a competition going.. perfect!
2. Binge watch your favourite series on Netflix - This is honestly just a typical night for me and my boyfriend, but if you do it in the spirit of Valentines Day you don't have to feel guilty about it.. right?!
3. Cook a meal together - This would make a great competition that you could do with other couples to see who could be the most creative or who could cook the best tasting meal! And the best part is, you get a huge feast after!
4. Order your favoruite food - Again, this is one of those things that tends to happen on a daily basis (oops..) but if it's Valentines day you don't have to feel guilty about eating so much..?
5. Make cards for eachother - as cheesy as this sounds it actually isn't so bad! Me and my boyfriend did this last year after getting fed up at the 'to the special man in my life' cards.. Handmade cards are great because you can really personalise them and bring your own humour to them and also, they're really thoughtful!
6. Explore - Make a bucket list of everything you want to do in your town and see how much you can do in one day.
7. Restaurant hopping - I've never tried this before but it sounds amazing! The ideas is that you have a date in three seperate restaurants so you eat your starter, main and desert in three different places! (With it being Valentines day I would advise booking these tables in advance though...!)
8. £20 date challenge - this is another great idea! You leave the house with your date/friend and nothing else but £20 and you can spend this any way that you like, as long as you enjoy yourself - that's all that matters!
9. Plan a group date - Go out with your girlfriends or with a group of other couples. That way you can face all those gooey lovey-dovey couples together..
10. Nothing - Just act like it's any other normal day, simple as that. Just do what you do best and then enjoy the cheap chocolate on February 15th!

I hope you enjoyed this post and it gave you some ideas as to what to do this Valentines day - let me know if you're a super cheesy person who loves Valentines day or if you're like me and would prefer to just binge watch Netflix series and eat all the chocolate instead! Thanks for reading!

  2. Me and my boyfriend are exactly the same, never really been into the valentines day stuff. I get him a card but not a cheesy one, it has to be funny! All we do is binge watch netflix - what's better than that? Haha great post xx
