How To | Stay Positive, Motivated and Inspired

At times it can be difficult to stay positive and motivated, especially when nothing seems to be going the way you planned. It's easy to fall into a negative funk when this happens - but it's important to stay positive and happy in order to feel better, both physically and mentally! While you can't always control what happens to you, you can control how you react to it - reacting positively will help you to be a generally happier person! If you're currently in a funk or know someone who is in a funk, you can use this steps to become more motivated and you never know, it might inspire you to achieve your hopes and dreams.

TRY NEW THINGS

It's important to get out of your comfort zone from time to time. I know it can be difficult and uncomfortable (hence the name..) but by doing so you can show yourself and others what you can actually achieve when you set your mind to it. This can be something small, like going out for a quick walk and exploring a new area of your town or finding a new interest/hobby or you could even strive to achieve that goal you've been putting off for ages! Doing things you would normally make excuses not to do pushes you to live life to the full, instead of just sticking to the same old boring routine, and you never know, you might discover something about yourself that you didn't know!

WORKOUT

I know, I know.. this one doesn't sound appealing to me either! But working out is actually really good for you, not only for your body but also for your mind! It can help you to be positive in so many ways, by increasing your self confidence, making you feel productive and also giving you a positive focus. It can also be a really great coping strategy for when you're feeling under the weather - working out is great way of forgetting all the stresses of daily life as it allows your mind to focus on other things.

CHANGE OF SCENERY

Sometimes all you need to do to get out of a funk is to change the space that you spend most of you day in - (your flat? your office? you name it!) Give your bedroom a revamp by changing the sheets or treating yourself to new cushions (because we all know you can never own enough cushions...!) Or add some small decor items to your desk such as ornaments in bright, happy colours or positive quotes! One super easy way I have done this in the past is by changing my desktop background on my laptop at the moment it is a quote that says 'Just Say Yes' which is something I need to remember to do!!

TAKE UP OPPORTUNITIES

This is one that I often forget to do - it so easy to become too comfortable in our home environment, watching Netflix with all the snacks and blankets you could ever want, this is great in moderation! However, I don't about you but I often turn down so many events and days out because I'd much rather stick to my comfort zone - This means I miss out on so many memories and fun times!! It's so important to get out there; socialise, make new friends, make new memories and take LOADS of pictures!
SET GOALS

Setting goals is a great way to get out a funk - and it's so important to write them down as this will help to inspire you to achieve these goals! It doesn't matter if their big or small, any achievement still counts! My favourite way of doing this is to make a vision board - this is where you print out pictures that represent all of the things you want to achieve or things you are looking forward to and you arrange them in a collage, you then hang your board somewhere where you can easily see it - this will help to inspire you to achieve them all!

There you have it! I hope you enjoyed my little tips for keeping positive and motivated! Let me know if you have tried any of these tips in the past or tell me what things help you to stay positive!
