Skewers are quite possibly one of my favourite deserts to make, they require little to no effort on your end and can actually turn out looking rather delicious. I don't know about you, but I think that strawberries, brownies and toasted marshmallows are like the best things separately, so you can only imagine what it tastes like when they all come together - it's pure magic! This skewers are perfect for a buffet style party where people could put the skewers together themselves. With chocolate fondue. YES. Someone please invite me to that party! Or you could just eat them all yourself like me.. Be warned, just one of these skewers is never enough!
YOU NEED:
• Strawberries• Marshmallows •(+ any sauces you would like on top) For the brownie bites: • 140g butter • 250g white sugar • 85g cocoa powder • 1/2 tsp salt • 2 eggs
• 62g flour
• (chocolate chips if you want)
|
METHOD:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line your brownie tin with parchment paper (or with butter) 2.In a saucepan, over medium heat melt together the cocoa powder, butter, sugar and salt. Mix until the mixture is smooth. Remove from the heat and add the vanilla extract and eggs and whisk to combine. Then stir in the flour (and add in the chocolate chips if needed) 3. Pop the mixture into your brownie tin and into the oven for 25-30 minutes (until a skewer comes out clean). Once cooked, remove from the oven and leave to cool before cutting the brownies into bite sized squares.
* My brownies came out way to gooey so I would recommend baking them for longer or popping them into the freezer once they're slightly cool, just so that the skewers are easier to assemble later*
