April Favourites

It's that time again! *insert ramble about how fast the month has gone here* But honestly though, where the heck has April gone! I just published my Spring wishlist and Summer is only around the bloody corner... I really can't believe that I am pretty much finished with uni now (besides a few assignments.. ugh!) and it's pretty much the summer holidays already.. it'll be Christmas before we all know it, haha! April has been a stressful and gloomy month for me, I don't know I've just been in a bit of a slump at the moment - like I will quite happily just stay in bed all day long and I've hardly even seen anyone except my boyfriend! Do you know what, it's a good job we don't get our groceries delivered because the only time I leave the house at the moment is to go to Tesco's! I am starting to get out of my gloomy mode though and fear not, I have a coffee date tomorrow with some of my close friends so I won't go completely insane! Anyway. enough of my rambling, onto my favourites this month!

Spring Wishlist

Being a poor student, I don't really have any funds.. it is purely my own choice though since I don't actually have a job at the moment.. I usually say it's down to the fact that I have a blog and a lot of uni work to do, but let's be honest I am super lazy! Well that's all about to change soon since I will be entirely finished with uni assignments very soon - so I have to do that dreaded thing called 'get off the sofa' *sad face* but that does mean one thing.. I will actually have some spare money to spend which mean I can actually start adding to and buying things from my wishlist! (yes this little spiel does have a purpose...) So! I thought I would share a few of the bits from my wishlist with you guys and since the weather is finally starting to pick up and the blue skies are now starting to break through I thought it would be a great opportunity to start picking out some spring essentials.. even if Spring has already sprung! I just feel like it's still to early to start shopping for Summer?! This post will also be a great motivator for me when I don't want to wake up early for work.. since lets be honest I'm going to have to work my bum off to be able to buy all of these bits!

Confessions Of A Blogger | Blogging Bloopers

You've earned  yourself a backstage pass to all the mistakes and secrets behind being a blogger, because let's be honest - it's not all marble desks and gorgeous makeup! I feel like bloggers (me included) take on a kind of persona when it comes to blogging, not to be fake or anything, but just to be the best version of themselves! I don't care how relatable you think you are or how much you share with your readers... we all have those things that we like to keep on the down-low, - not just when it comes to our personal life either, because I also mean all those bloopers that we leave out of our posts! This isn't necessarily a bad thing, we aren't expected to have our shit together 24/7 (no one is that perfect!) and sometimes it's better to keep those moments to yourself. But in light of this subject I thought I would put together a list (and a few examples) of things that I like to keep as a sort of secret from you guys when I'm blogging - the blooper reel if you like, since I've taken a step back lately and realised the amount I keep hidden!!

Glowy Spring Cheeks | feat. Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette

Now that it's spring, the weather is starting to get a little warmer and the blue skies are starting to shine through, highlighters and luminisers are on my mind! Glowy, highlighted cheeks in Spring is a huge must, to make your skin look healthy and alive - I mean come on, it's not Winter anymore! I've seen this highlighter floating around on Twitter a lot over the past couple of months so I thought I would jump on the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette band-wagon (better late than never right?!) since the product always looked so gorgeous in photos - you guys did a great job at tempting me to buy it! I was so excited to finally get my hands on this cute little set since I've always loved Sleek products, the packaging and quality of the makeup is top notch and for an amazing price too - you can't really go wrong!

Review | Lush Little Dragon Reusable Bubble Bar

I have now tried, tested and loved my newest addition to my Lush collection, so here I am, as promised, giving you guys a review! This lovely reusable bubble bar is of course Lush's Little Dragon which as I have mentioned in the past is an Oxford Street exclusive that you can only buy from the Oxford Street Lush! I've been a bit silly and actually ran a bath and used the bubble bar before taking any pictures of the whole dragon... (yeah, I know *face palm* I got a bit carried away with the cool action shots..) but if you want to see the bubble bar in it's gorgeous whole-self form (?!) you can click here for a recent haul post where I mentioned it - and actually took a picture of it..

How To | 50 Ways To Stress Less

Dare I say it, but dreaded exams are on the way! In fact, a lot of you probably have exams this week... (sorry for bringing it up!!) I don't want to rub it in, but I am one of the lucky ones who doesn't actually have any exams this year - but don't worry, trust me when I say I have had my fair share of stress over exams... So I definitely know how you're all feeling! I thought now would be the perfect time to share a list of my ideas for ways to de-stress and relax when times get a bit tough.. since I feel like a lot of us get caught up in daily stresses and forget how important is it to just have a little 'me time' just to relax and become human again!! So here is my list of 50 ways you can de-stress today!

Review | Doll White Teeth Whitening Strips*

I've never really been a huge fan of my teeth... not only do they stick out a bit (despite having braces for 3 years... wear your retainers kids!!) but I mean, as a coffee addict, they aren't the whitest teeth in the world! I've never actually had the confidence or commitment to try out a teeth whitening kit, however, I have always wanted to try one just to see if it would really work - so when Doll White sent me some strips to try out I was very excited!

How To | 15 Tips For A Better Nights Sleep

I'm not going to lie, I feel a little un-motivated at the moment.. Although I'm usually quite good with writing posts and I tend to have a few scheduled to tide me over, this week has been a different story! I think this is mainly down to one reason - a lack of good sleep! I've been staying at my Mum's for the Easter break and let's be honest my bed here isn't the comfiest - it also doesn't have my boyfriend in it, which is a huge problem! Sleep is so important for us to function properly, we repair our bodies and our brains when we rest, which is a huge part of how we feel and act the following day! So if you want to be more of a morning person and catch up on some of that beauty sleep, keep reading for 27 quick tips on how to sleep better! Perhaps I might learn from these tips too..!

I Am Lazy | My Tips For Getting Sh*t Done!

Procrastination is a problem for everyone.. if you say you have never procrastinated in your life, you would be lying. In fact, you probably have things you should be doing right now, right..? I'm not judging, I have things I should be doing too! In fact, I put off even writing this blog post for a while.. haha! Procrastination was always a problem for me in school, homework would ALWAYS be left to the very last minute and coursework and revision was always a huge struggle - in fact I remember I did the bear minimum of revision for my GCSE's which I don't recommend!

Rocky Road

I found this amazing recipe when I was having a flick through my favourite ever cookbook ('What To Bake and How To Bake It by Jane Hornby) and when I saw this I knew I just had to make it! My Step-Mum actually used to make this when I was younger and I fell in LOVE with it - I mean look at them! (*all the heart eye emojis!*) This one is super easy because you don't actually have to bake it! And as you can see, it is not on the healthy side of the baking spectrum.. but we all deserve a treat every now and again!! I always tend to do quite chocolate-y bakes after Easter since there are always chocolate eggs lying around! I definitely have a lot this year, since my family decided to buy eggs for everyone this year (I ended up with quite a few!!) So this bake is for all of you who still have  the will power not to eat loads of Easter eggs and don't know what to do with all the leftovers...go on you deserve a treat! haha!

Dealing With Anxiety

If you've read some of my older posts, you'll know that I have anxiety. When I first discovered that I had it, I took to browsing the internet (way too much...) to try and find ways of dealing and coping with it. I managed to find a lot of good tips, some that I still use to this day, so I've decided to pop them all into one place, for all of you out there that are looking for a few tips! Because, although we all have our own ways of coping, it's nice to find other methods that you may have not thought of before! Also, not all of these tips are strictly for people dealing with anxiety and a lot of them will most likely help those of you suffering from other mental illnesses, but anyway...I hope you find it helpful in some way!

How To | Get Blogging Organised

I've always been quite an organised person, I wouldn't call it OCD - but it's definitely borderline! It doesn't help that my Mum is the biggest list writer you will ever meet, she has lists for her lists I swear! So when I started blogging, more or less straight away I developed ways that I could be more organised with my schedule and ideas etc. I gathered a lot of ideas from around the internet and also made some up myself, so I though I would put them all in one place for all of you out there who are looking to get a little bit more organised with your blog!

Haul | Huge Shopping Spree

I had a lot of birthday money left over, and I haven't had a really good shopping spree for what feels like years - so I thought it was about time that I had a proper slurge and actually spent my money on things that I want, rather than on food and coffees like I usually would! I actually had a really busy week, since I had spent a week at my Mum's for my birthday, and then only had 4 days home before I go back to my Mum's for Easter - but we obviously managed to squeeze a quick shopping trip in there! So we (me and my boyfriend.. who I was already dragging along at this point haha!) popped along to Southampton to spend all my money!! (Also, apologies for the poor picture quality, I only had one day free to take the pictures and it was already getting dark - so they were sort of rushed.. oops!)

Review | Lush Sunflower Bubble Bar

Since I'm back living with my Mum for the week and I'm missing my bath like crazy, I though now would be the best time to reminisce on my last bath and also give you guys a review of my latest addition to my growing Lush collection! Which reminds me, I really need to go back in there and have a huge splurge...

So if you read my latest Lush haul post (if not - you can catch it here!) you will know that I was lucky enough to go into Lush Oxford street for the first time - I had such an amazing time there, and I honestly did not want to leave. I would live there if I could...! Whilst there I picked up 2 bubble bars; Sunflower and also Little Dragon (I haven't actually used Little Dragon yet, but I will be doing a review as soon as I do!!) they are both Oxford Street exclusive bubble bars, so I was very excited to try them out and review them for you guys! Let's get on with the review shall we...

First Ever Q&A (Probably Not The Last...)

First of all, thanks so much to everyone who asked me questions - I was honestly a bit skeptical to even do a Q&A because I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in asking me anything!! I do love a good Q&A post though, because it gets you guys involved and helps me to know what you actually want me to talk about! So thanks for all your help! Also, let me know if this is something you would like to do in the future - and if you didn't get a chance to ask me a question this time, add me on twitter @jemmasimplelife so that you know exactly when I'm doing the next one!! You should also go and follow all of the gorgeous people who asked me questions, because they're all sweet hearts!
