April Favourites

It's that time again! *insert ramble about how fast the month has gone here* But honestly though, where the heck has April gone! I just published my Spring wishlist and Summer is only around the bloody corner... I really can't believe that I am pretty much finished with uni now (besides a few assignments.. ugh!) and it's pretty much the summer holidays already.. it'll be Christmas before we all know it, haha! April has been a stressful and gloomy month for me, I don't know I've just been in a bit of a slump at the moment - like I will quite happily just stay in bed all day long and I've hardly even seen anyone except my boyfriend! Do you know what, it's a good job we don't get our groceries delivered because the only time I leave the house at the moment is to go to Tesco's! I am starting to get out of my gloomy mode though and fear not, I have a coffee date tomorrow with some of my close friends so I won't go completely insane! Anyway. enough of my rambling, onto my favourites this month!

BEAUTY FAVOURITES

1. Sleek Highlighting Palette (Solstice)
Now, if you're up to date with my posts you'll know that I raved about this so so much in one of my recent posts and now that I've tried it a few more times with a few different makeup looks I am loving it even more - Hemisphere might even be one of my favourite highlighters of all time, it's just so pigmented and beautiful on the skin! I always love to just slap (?!) a bit of highlighter on my face, even if I'm just doing a quick or natural makeup look and I feel like this palette is just so perfect for that job, because you hardly even need to coat your brush in the product - it's literally just one swipe and you're done! I am loving it so so much and if you haven't tried it yet you need to! (Lots of people were saying it was sold out when they tried ordering it but Boots must have some more in stock now, since it was so easy for me to pick one up!!)

2. Soap and Glory Cheek Stick (Wonder Bronze)
This is another makeup product that I have literally used every time I do my makeup! I just find that these cheek sticks are so easy to apply and blend and they just give off such a gorgeous colour - I am particularly a huge fan of the Wonder Bronze shade, as a complete amateur at contouring!! I love using the stick to contour because you can be so precise as opposed to using powder (which tends to go everywhere for me!) and then you can just easily blend it away with a brush or your fingers and you're sorted - gorgeous contour, no effort!

3. John Frieda Kelp Help Hair Masque
Now I have a post coming up in the near future that talks all about this amazing product but I couldn't go without mentioning this in my favourites since I've used it so so much this month and it has genuinely been a huge saviour! As you may or may not know I've recently had my hair bleached blonde and obviously my hair is completely paying for my new look (sorry hair!!) so I had to go out and buy a extremely nourishing hair masque to give it a huge deep condition and honestly I can really tell a difference every time I use this stuff - it's just amazing! As I said, I've got a whole post about this coming up, so if you're interested watch this space!

OTHER FAVOURITES

1. Smoothies
As I am trying my absolute hardest to be healthy and lose a little bit of weight my new obsession is smoothies! We recently bought a Breville blender after umming and ahhing for months about whether to get one or not, and I am honestly so glad we did! I just chop up all of my fresh fruit straight after we've been shopping and zip-lock bag a few bits of fruit into each bag and pop it into the freezer! When I fancy a smoothie I just grab a little bag and it's already got all of my fruit in! I literally love smoothie so much, especially banana and strawberry which is my all time favourite! I find it's so perfect for spring and summer as a little healthy refresher! (It'll also stop me from snacking all day long... hopefully!)

2. My hair!
If you follow me on twitter you will know that I recently made quite a drastic change to my hair! I've always had long brunette hair, my entire life - except for the occasional times when I was very young and I had a fringe or a bob! But, my hair was long long overdue a cut and the split ends were getting incredibly out of control so I decided I wanted a change and I've actually got my hair cut into a lob and highlighted bleach blonde! Now, I am finally loving the colour, which took me quite a while to actually get used to, I suppose because I've always had dark hair. But the only think I am still not totally in love with is the length, I find it to be quite an unflattering length for me and I definitely prefer the longer look on me, so I am just wearing it up everyday and waiting for it to grow out if I'm honest! I'm still unsure of whether I will just get it dyed back brown when the roots grow out.. but I don't know, we'll have to see!

3. Music
My neighbours have probably really hated me this month, because I have really been into a few albums - that means playing them on repeat all day long and singing along as loud as possible! The two albums I have been loving is Adele 25 and Panic! At The Disco's Death of a Bachelor. 25 was a re-discovery for me, because I absolutely adored this album when it first came out and now I am falling in love with it all over again - I literally love every single song and I sing along to all of them, but if I had to choose 2 songs that I love the most it would definitely be River Lea and Million Years Ago! Death of a Bachelor is definitely more my 'get-of-your-bum-and-get-on-the-crosstrainer' kind of an album, and I particularly love Victorious and Don't Threaten Me With a Good Time when I'm working out! However, my favourite song is 100% Death of a Bachelor - I could listen to it all day long!

  1. I love a lot of sleek products but I haven't tried their highlight palette, it looks very pretty though! Also I want to try more Soap and Glory products, I really love their lipsticks but that's all that I've tried from their range. I haven't had a smoothie in so long, I think it's time to change that!

  2. Honestly, I think that blonde hair suit you so much! It looks really beautiful. And smoothies are great for breakfast and snacks, healthy and super delicious. Speaking about beauty, I haven't tried sleek products but I heard so much about them. I am not too sure if we have them in my country though :)
