Review | Lush Sunflower Bubble Bar

Since I'm back living with my Mum for the week and I'm missing my bath like crazy, I though now would be the best time to reminisce on my last bath and also give you guys a review of my latest addition to my growing Lush collection! Which reminds me, I really need to go back in there and have a huge splurge...

So if you read my latest Lush haul post (if not - you can catch it here!) you will know that I was lucky enough to go into Lush Oxford street for the first time - I had such an amazing time there, and I honestly did not want to leave. I would live there if I could...! Whilst there I picked up 2 bubble bars; Sunflower and also Little Dragon (I haven't actually used Little Dragon yet, but I will be doing a review as soon as I do!!) they are both Oxford Street exclusive bubble bars, so I was very excited to try them out and review them for you guys! Let's get on with the review shall we...

Sunflower is actually a brand new bubble bar to Lush this year and as I said it is an Oxford Street exclusive bubble bar, which means you can only buy it from the Oxford Street store (however, it is available in a few of the mothers day gift sets I believe)  I was immediately drawn to this bubble bar, because of it's gorgeous colour - it's bright yellow and orange and is also decorated in dried flowers , the perfect design for spring and summer - everything about it just makes me feel happy. I feel like this is definitely not a comforting bubble bar (like the Christmas range) but has more of a refreshing and uplifting feel to it - so if you're more into your summery 'Brightside' types of bubble bars, this one's for you! Another thing that really caught my attention was the size of the bubble bar, I haven't measured it myself but according to other reviews it's around 15cm which is so much bigger than the average bubble bar (that means more baths *cheer*) and makes it 100% the biggest bubble bar I have ever bought from Lush!

I was actually recommended this bubble bar by one of the lovely ladies in Lush, who said that she often just goes over to the bubble bars just to smell Sunflower, and I can honestly see why! The scent really matches the whole uplifting and happy vibe that this bubble bar has got going! It's full of  zesty lemon oil, making it obviously a very citrus-y smelling bubble bar - which I personally am a huge fan of, especially in the spring, summer months when I want to move away from the more comforting cinnamon scents!

I opted for crumbling this bubble bar under running water as I usually get the most bubbles that way (and you know how much I love bubbles!) I started off by using 2 petals. thinking that I would need to add more... I didnt! The ammount of bubbles that 2 petals made was actually amazing, making this bubble bar amazing value for money, there are 12 petals.. so I mean that's 6 baths! (I don't know if it's just my tap (?) because it's quite powerful and I tend to make a lot of bubbles quite easily in that bath, also I've read from other reviews that 4 baths seems about right! But here's hoping that you can get 6 baths out of it too!!) The bath water turned a yellowy green sort of a colour which I always find a bit weird.. but I'm willing to overlook it because of the gorgeous smell and obviously the silky smooth skin that Lush bath products always give you!

Overall, I am really in love with this bubble bar, which kind of sucks in a way because I know for a fact that I won't be going back to Oxford Street anytime soon!! But if any of you are going to Oxford Street in the near future, definitely give this one a whiff because it's gorgeous! Also, as I said I will definitely be doing a review for The Little Dragon bubble bar too, so if you're interested in that pop back soon or follow me on twitter @jemmasimplelife for updates on new posts! Anyway, thanks for reading guys - this has really made me want a bath now.. I'm genuinely counting down the days until I get my bath back.. I miss it so much!

  1. That's amazing that you can get so many baths out of it! I have the same issue, I can only have a bath when I'm back at home in Switzerland as at uni I only have a shower! It sucks! I really want to go to the Oxford Street shop! It's been an age xx
