May Favourites

It's that time of the month again, and as ever, it has come around super fast! So much has happened this month, I finished uni, started a new job and the weather finally got warmer (woo!) but you can read all about my life lately here! I also treated myself to a few beauty bits (which doesn't happen very often surprisingly..) so I definitely have a few beauty favourites to share! I hope you enjoy the post and be sure to let me know in the comments what your favourites are this month - I'd love to know!

BEAUTY FAVOURITES

1. Real Techniques - Miracle Complexion Sponge
I never really understood the 'beauty blender' trend... I was quite happy with my makeup brushes and I thought I would never get the hang of that dabbing motion, haha! But I picked up this complexion sponge since I have loved every single Real Techniques product I have owned, so I thought I would give it a go and omg.. I am never going back! I just love how natural my foundation looks when I apply it with the sponge, you can create such a subtle look that still covers all those blemishes and actually it's even easier to apply that with brushes! If you have never tried a beauty blender before I 100% recommend it - because I will certainly be stocking up! I also clearly need to give mine a wash... just keeping it real.. aka: I'm super lazy and couldn't be bothered, lol!

2. Makeup Revolution - Fortune Favours The Brave Eyeshadow Palette
I've seen this gorgeous palette floating about on twitter and in various beauty blogs and I have always been so intrigued because it looks so so BEAUTIFUL! I've always loved Makeup Revolution because they always come out with the most gorgeous makeup so my makeup collection is slowly becoming over-run by Makeup Revolution - but can you really blame me?! haha! I absolutely love this palette though - the range of matte, shimmer and baked shades is amazing (omg I love the baked colours tho - aren't they just stunning?! The range of colours is super amazing too - I've been loving using the purple shades at the moment but I definitely can't wait to branch out and have a play! I think I'm going to do a full review of the whole palette in more detail - so let me know if that's something you guys would be interested in!

3. The Balm -  Batter Up (Pinch Hitter)
I've been on the hunt for a good eyeshadow stick recently because let's face it, I'm a little bit lazy and sometimes I'd prefer to just slather an eyeshadow stick on my eyes and blend, rather than mess around with palettes! I read a few blogs and a lot of them seemed to lead me to The Balm's Batter Up eyeshadow sticks and I decided to give it a go since The Balm always brings out products that are such amazing quality and also super cute packaging which is always a bonus and once again, I've been loving purple recently so I decided to go for the purple-y taupe shade! The formula is amazing and slides of like butter which I absolutely love and they blend perfectly (just make sure that you work quickly since it tends to set super quick) The eyeshadow also lasts all day long without creasing which is a huge bonus especially for work! I will most definitely be buying this in more (if not all!!) shades!

OTHER FAVOURITES

1. Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman
The one album I did not stop listening to this month is definitely Ariana's Dangerous Woman! (well it only came out on the 20th, but I haven't stopped listening since, trust me!) I've never been THAT into Ariana Grande, I like most of her old songs, but I've never been crazy addicted.. until this album came out! Omg, I am loving ALL of the songs and I genuinely haven't stopped listening to them all - but if I had to pick 2 songs that are my favourites I would definitely say Leave Me Lonely because omg, Macy Gray in that song tho *heart eyes* and Greedy because it's such a fun song to dance to! If you haven't listened to this album yet I definitely recommend it since the album has something for everyone on it! Just be prepared to annoy all your neighbors by playing all the songs on repeat, haha!

2. Tescos Finest Cookies
Is having cookies on a favourites post weird..?! I dunno.. maybe but anyways as a self proclaimed chocoholic I am always looking for new chocolate treats and I think I have found my new love! The cookie are absolutely DELICIOUS!! They taste like the best most amazing homemade cookies - perfectly moist and indulgent.. yum! My 2 favourites are the triple chocolate ones and the white chocolate and honeycomb... and omg is it difficult to not eat an entire bag in one sitting! (...There is one left in that bag, I promise!)

3. Remington Pearl Professional Curling Iron
As I mentioned in my last favourites post I got my hair done last month and I was finding it super difficult to style my hair right, since I wasn't too happy with the length and I was just chucking it up in a bun on most days.. but I think I've finally found the answer guys! I went digging for my long lost hair curlers, that my boyfriend bought me probably around 3 years ago and I am finally starting to like my hair again now! Curling my hair definitely makes it look 10 times better - it doesn't look quite so flat and it also distracts from my already neglected roots.. oops! This hair curler is by far my favourite I have ever tried, which is why I went on the hunt for it rather than going out and buying a new one. I believe the wand is infused with real pearl which leaves you hair feeling super soft and shiny and also the curl tends to stay in my hair for up to 3 days which is great for me at the moment because it means I don't have to spend 45 minutes curling my hair every morning!
