Update #5 | Summer Is Just Around The Corner!

I've just started my new job at a little place that rhymes with 'Schmescos' (lol) this week which means waking up at 4:30am (yes, you read that right... 4:30am!) which my body is not too happy about - so that means I have been extra tired all week long as I haven't quite  caught up on all that sleep I've missed out on. So I thought I would write a quick update post, since I haven't quite got all my motivation to write a full-on beauty review or pep-talk style post.. but I am, however, motivated enough to ramble for bit, haha!

First off, can I just say I am LOVING this warm weather - I had a lovely week off when I'd finished uni and hadn't started work yet and it was so lovely just sitting out on my balcony with a good old book in the sunshine, something that I really don't get to do enough! I honestly can't wait for summer to hurry up so I can sit out there on all my days off with the sun shining! I've also told my boyfriend to cut down on his work hours, since he works pretty much every day of his life because I really want to make the most of this summer! I pretty much worked every single day last summer and only really spent 2 days out in the sun (which is why I am paler than a ghost at the moment!) so I really want to make sure I get out in it this year and I don't just spend all the time working! I've already written down all the different events that are going on in my area and I am definitely planning on having loads of picnics and beach walks so hopefully we get some proper hot days so I can get out and get my tan on!

It's so nice to be done with uni too, phew! It's just a huge weight off my shoulders to know that I don't have any essays to write until September because honestly, the stress was just about getting to it's limit! But now I can just focus on work and getting paid! (woo!) I hope anyone who has got exams or has had exams is doing okay, and isn't getting too stressed or worried - I honestly do feel very sorry for you lot because I remember how stressful exams can be (especially any of you do psychology A level - I feel you!!) but just remember to do the best you can do and that is all that is expected of you! Also remember that summer is just around the corner and once you're done you can get out and enjoy the sunshine without any worries!

But yeah, I am loving work so far (just can't wait for that first pay check woo!) - everyone is very lovely and welcoming and the work is quite easy at the moment - apart from walking around 500 lengths of the store in one shift! It only got a tiny bit stressful on Tuesday when I was in a huge rush to get done! I'm sure the work will get a bit more difficult but hopefully it'll all be okay! I'm actually quite proud of myself for getting through my first ever interview and also one of those annoying induction days where you have to be super social and talk about team work, since socialising isn't really my strong suit and I tend to avoid it at all costs - so I did make sure that I celebrated that little achievement because it wasn't exactly the most comfortable of situations!

Let me know what you've been up to recently - I'd love to know! Have you been enjoying this lovely weather or have you been stuck inside with your 9-5 job (boo!) Also what are your plans for this summer?! - I need some inspiration, since there are only so many picnics and beach walks that you can go on in a week, haha!

  4. Congratulations on finishing a year at uni! Best feeling ever! Fricking love 'Schmescos' ;) though a bit of a bummer having to wake up at a ridiculous hour jeez! Should try and keep your phone in your pocket so you can calculate your step count during your shifts ;) xx

    1. Thanks so much! :) Schmescos is great haha! I was literally going to do this soon - I've got an app on my phone that tracks my steps but I'm still waiting for my uniform which actually has pockets, unlike all my smart trousers, haha! x

  6. Seeing you talk about 'Schmescos' somehow made me pretty hungry haha. Getting up that early must be hard, I once had a job with opposite working hours, I finished working at about 3 am and it was pretty hard but worth it. Picnics and walks at the beach sound fantastic, I'm having similar plans for this summer ( with less beach walks though as I'm not living near the sea). xx

    1. Try working for them, especially that early in the morning when I'm craving breakfast, haha! I don't think I could ever work hours like that but I suppose your body just gets used to it eventually! :) I hope you have a great summer lovely! :) x

  8. These natural brain dump updates are my favourite, they show the real you I feel! I'm so happy that you're happy with where you are at the moment, and in a working environnment especially because it's always good to enjoy what you do and the people you work with. I'm coming back to England in June so I'll be back for the Summer; I hope this warm weather stays as I don't plan on spending a lot of time indoors that's for sure!

    1. Hahah! Brain dump is literally the best way to put it! pretty sure I was barely conscious writing this one because I was so tired oops! Yeah I'm super happy about it all too - I hate working as it is, so at least I've got some lovely people to keep me motivated! :) The weather is looking good for you so far, I hope it stays warm for you! x

  9. Great post, such a lovely update. Well done on getting your job and getting through the interview.
I haven't made any plans for the summer, I think it'll be days out, long walks and piconics too, I'm living the warm weather, I hope we get a few more days of it through the summer months too.
