10 Things I Want To Do Before I Die | Bucket List

At the moment I feel like life has fallen into too much of a routine. Don't get me wrong, routines aren't always bad, in fact I do really need a routine to function since my Mum has brought me up that way! But I just feel like at the moment, I get up, go to work, eat tea and then go to bed and nothing much really happens in between, which got me thinking.. what do I actually want to do with my life?! I don't want to be completely cliche and do the whole 'you only have one life, live it' thing (lol that's a lie, that was almost the name of this post, haha!) but it is really true and I refuse to get to 80 years old and look back on my life with regret for all the chances and opportunities I didn't take! The first step to accomplishing good things and getting off your bum is making a list so I decided to write a quick list of a few things I want to do/achieve in life - my 'bucket list' if you like! (Hence the 'beachy' picture.. ha, see what I did there?! I'm so funny..)  I hope you enjoy reading my list, let me know if there's anything on there that you also would like to do, or even if you have already done a few of these things! Also, share you own bucket lists down below because I'd love to have a read and gather more ideas!

1. GET A PUPPY! // As a child I never owned a dog that I lived with full-time, my Dad had a dog but since my parents are divorced I only saw him every other weekend so the dogs didn't really feel like mine, you know. But I have always always wanted a little puppy just to love and adore, haha! I feel like I may be able to check this off my bucket list soon though, as soon as we move out of this flat and into an actual house. Also as soon as me and my boyfriend decide on what kind of puppy we want; he loves big dogs, but I'm much of a small dog kinda person - so it's very difficult to come to a happy medium since we're both so set in our ways! But I'm sure we'll figure it out, at least I hope so!!

2. GO TO DISNEY, AGAIN! // The last time I went to Disney World I think I was around 6 years old and the last time I went to Disney Land I was probably like 8-ish so I really can't remember much of either of them! I was also super super scared of roller coasters so I didn't really make the most of the trips, at all! Luckily, I am a child at heart so at 20 I am still obsessed (maybe even more obsessed?!) with Disney and the thought of going back excites me so so much, haha! I keep dropping hints to my boyfriend, but he's neither a roller coaster fan nor a Disney fan (I know... I don't even know why I'm still with him, lol JUST KIDDING!!) so I may have to organise a little trip with my best friends - that sounds perfect to me!

3. TRAVEL MORE // If there's one thing that I've really not done with my life it's travel! I've barely been anywhere in the world, in fact I haven't even left the UK (except to go to Wales last year, but that doesn't count, haha!) for around 6-7 years!! Italy is most definitely at the top of my list of places I want to visit so my next holiday is definitely going to be anywhere in Italy - mainly for the food, haha! Me and my boyfriend are actually currently supposed to be saving up (emphasis on the word 'supposed'!) for a holiday so hopefully I don't have to wait too long to cross this one off my list! I also know that my boyfriend wants to go on a huge American road trip which I definitely agree to - so add that the list too!

4. GET A TATTOO // Getting a tattoo is always something that I've wanted to do, I'd only get something small and somewhere where it could be easily hidden! There are quite a few reasons why I keep putting it off actually, the main reason being I hate needles and pain... to be honest if I ever have the choice to avoid needles, I'm going to choose that option so I feel like that's why I've never actually done anything about getting a tattoo! Secondly, I can't think of anything that has a meaning; I know that you don't have to get a tattoo that has a meaning but I feel like people tend to expect there to be a meaning behind it and I can be bothered for the awkwardness when people ask me what my tattoo means, haha! I am also the biggest lazy oaf when it comes to organising anything so I haven't done any research whatsoever into the best local places to get a tattoo or anything.. but it's definitely something that I hope to do in the future, probably on a whim so that I don't spend weeks/days getting anxious and having second thoughts!

5. BECOME A TEACHER // For those of you who don't know I'm about to go into my third year of University where I'm studying Early Childhood studies before I do my PGCE for Primary teaching, so obviously becoming a teacher is on my bucket list! I didn't always want to be a teacher but I used to play schools as a child with my teddy's; I would always take a register and write my name and date on a big whiteboard, haha! (Tell me you didn't do this too, I feel like everyone did this!!) I didn't really even know what I wanted to do when I 'grew up' when I got to 6th form - I feel like there was so much pressure to know what you wanted to do that I kind of didn't really think about it properly; I knew I wanted to work with children because I get on so well with them (even better than adults, haha!) and I knew that I wanted to work with children of around age 4-7 so I kind of had no other choice than to become a teacher. (I didn't do much research - which links back to my earlier 'lazy oaf' comment...) luckily, now that I am at uni and also doing placement in an actual school I do genuinely really enjoy teaching and I am so excited to have my own classroom sometime in the future!

6. HAVE A FAMILY // As I said I absolutely love children, everything about them just makes me feel so happy - I feel like it's their positive and fearless personalities, because every child tends to just be all happy and carefree 24/7! In this sense, I've always always wanted to have a family and I really can't wait until the day comes that I can actually start a family!

7. BECOME MORE CONFIDENT // Although there are a lot of things that I have gotten better at and that have improved for me with age, there are also a lot of things that have gotten worse for me; for example I feel like my anxiety has reached a new low this year and I am much worse than I have ever been. However, I was scrolling through twitter recently and I read a tweet by Zoe Sugg that said something about how much emotional strength she has gained recently and it really got me thinking and reminded me that it doesn't always have to be this way and I will get stronger, it just takes time! I hope that one day I will just feel more confident in myself, not really give a damn about what others think and just get on with my life however I want to live it!

8. RENT A HOUSE (WITH A GARDEN!) // It has only come apparent to me recently, since the weather has got warmer and I want to get my tan on, that renting a flat with no garden is actually a real pain in the ass! We have a balcony where we live now, but the sun is only ever on it for around 2 hour in a day (and these hours are at around 9-10am, so not really the prime tanning times!!) so it's really made me realise how much I miss my garden in my family house where I could just move my little chair around so it's in the sun all day!! This one also goes hand in hand with the own a puppy one - since you kind of need a garden to own a dog, haha!

9. HAVE A FLAT STOMACH // Let's face it, we all know there's no way that I have rock hard abs.. and yes when I breathe out it does look like I'm a little pregnant, haha! I'm lacking the motivation and the time to work out and eat healthily at the moment, but I definitely hope that I will achieve this some day because it genuinely is my ultimate dream! I would just love to wear tight fitting clothes again and not feel super self conscious about my stomach poking out, or even wear a cute crop top and also feel comfortable wearing a bikini again - I can do it, I just need that motivation back!

10. SEE MICHAEL BUBLE LIVE! // In my lifetime I've only been to a handful of concerts, I've seen Muse live a few times which was so amazing and I would love to see them again! I've also see Little Mix recently which was also so so amazing and it really made me want to go to so many more! I actually have a list of people I would LOVE to see live; like Adele, Maroon 5 and Panic At The Disco! I just don't have the funds, boo hoo! But the one person I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to see live is Michael Buble (particularly at Christmas time!! *) I've always been a huge fan of his songs for years and years and I feel like he would be so so good live - especially at Christmas because that would just make me feel so festive and christmasy, I mean it's making me feel festive just thinking about it!!

  6. I LOVE Michael Buble - he's about the only Canadian I actually like(ya, ya I'm a Canadian music snob)

I think everyone needs a bucket list. For me, I've actually accomplished a couple of those things on my bucket list(meet Jane Goodall, get a tattoo, get married) and others will be done SO soon(whale watching, ski Whistler) and then there are others that are hopefully within a couple years(have kids, visit the Hawaiian islands)
