Lazy Sundays | My Typical Sunday

Now that I'm back at University, I still work part-time and I also aim to get blog posts up every other day you can imagine that my week gets pretty busy. To be honest, I do love being busy, especially when it comes to blogging since I love being creative with writing down my little thoughts and taking photos so I don't mind TOO much! Even so, often at times it does feel like I don't really get much time off, but obviously I do make sure to have some me-time every now and again just to relax and refresh! Sundays have pretty much become my one day off where I give myself that time to de-stress and and put my to-do list aside - and I definitely make sure that I don't need to leave the house unless absolutely necessary... (this means I don't have to leave my pyjamas or my bed, haha!) So today I decided to share my typical Sunday with you guys and just share some of the things that I enjoy doing on a typical day off!

Typically on a Sunday I really try to have a lie in. It sounds weird that I have to TRY to sleep longer but waking up at 5:15am on a typical day (for work) means that your body clock is completely out of sync and I naturally tend to wake up around 6am, but I definitely force myself to go back to sleep for a few more hours - I need that beauty sleep, haha! Once I've finally had enough sleep (or Ethan leaves for work and inevitably wakes me up!) I usually grab my phone straight away. I feel like this is true for a lot of us, I honestly don't know where I'd be without my phone. What else would I except scroll through instagram first thing in the morning?! A lot of the time I go straight to Twitter or my blog so that I can reply to all the lovely comments you guys have left on my posts! When I've woken up a little bit I definitely go downstairs to make myself a lovely cup of coffee - normally in that Minnie Mouse mug in the picture above, sometimes I'll even wash it up if it's dirty - honestly anyone would think I don't own 1000 other mugs, haha! I just bloody love that mug...lol!

Then, I'll usually just scroll through Twitter a little more or schedule my tweets for the day with my coffee and obviously do all the usual chore-y bits like open all the blinds and stick a load of washing on. We've been seriously loving warm, hearty meals that you cook in the slow cooker at the moment and I love doing meals like this on my day off - not only does it make the house smells AMAZING but it's also so easy, you literally just chuck everything into the pot and you don't have to worry about cooking tea later on. So usually I'll stick on my Spotify playlist (which is FULL of cheesy, classics no less!) and prepare something like a casserole or pulled pork in the morning, have a good dance, stick it in the slow cooker and leave it to cook - simple!

On my lazy Sunday I ALWAYS make time for a good old pamper session, I feel like because I'm so busy the rest of the week I tend to forget how important it is to just relax and enjoy having a shower or a bath since most of the time I just jump in the shower quickly and don't really give myself time to enjoy it! If I decide to have a bath you can bet I will be using anything from Lush! At the moment I am seriously loving all the Halloween collection, especially the Sparkly Pumpkin so usually I crumble that little bubble bar under running water and get cosy in all those bubbles! Usually when I'm in the bath I like to catch up on some YouTube videos, I normally have over 40 videos in my watch later since I never have time to watch them and they just add up over the whole week... the struggle is real, haha! If I'm not feeling a bath (or if my hair is in desperate need of a wash) I'll have a nice shower instead, which usually ends in a bit of a dance party if I've got my cheesy Spotify playlist on again, haha! At the moment I'm seriously loving using my 'Back For Breakfast' shower gel from Lush, you can read all about it in this post, but it basically smells amazing, so citrusy and perfect for Autumn - I love anything citrusy so I have pretty much been using this non-stop! I also obviously am still looking after my blonde hair so I still use my absolute favourite shampoo and conditioner Sheer Blonde by John Frieda, I did a full review of these AGES AGO - you can read that here! I mentioned a while ago actually that I was going in for a hair consultation about getting my hair back to it's natural colour and I've actually gone and booked the hair appointment now for next Tuesday so I am pretty nervous - also typically I'm loving my blonde hair this week but soon it'll be brunette again and I'll have an excuse to go and buy loads of new shampoos and conditioners!

After my pampering I like to go back up to bed and watch a little bit of Netflix. At the moment I am seriously loving 'Haters Back Off' and I just find it such an easy, funny series to watch but if I'm feeling something a little more intense I'll usually stick on American Horror Story and now that season 5 is finally on Netflix in the UK I am obsessed again (as scary as this season is!) - I honestly don't know what I'm going to do once it ends! I know I said that this is my day off from blogging but sometimes I really can't help myself, it is a hobby after all and I really do enjoy it - so if I'm feeling in the mood to blog (or if I'm a bit behind on my blogging schedule!) I'll either start writing some ideas down for new posts, take photos for new posts or proof read posts that are ready to go live soon! Then because I'm on my laptop and I tend to get distracted easily, I'll usually end up on BooHoo or Asos and I can be scrolling through their clothes for quite some time, to be honest most of the time I end up ordering something too, oops! Speaking of new clothes I actually have a couple of hauls coming up featuring some new beauty bits and warmer clothes for Autumn/Winter so if you're interested in hauls definitely watch this space!

Then once I've spent a bit of time of my laptop the day is normally close to an end - my days off are always so short, it always feels that way, doesn't it?! On a Monday I start work a 6am and I don't usually finish until 3 so I have to make sure I go to bed early or I literally can't function, haha! And then I'm ready to start the week all over again!

  1. You Sunday's sound great to me, especially your baths. I need a trip to Lush, i've only ever tried one bath bomb years ago but i've been loving these multi-coloured baths that everyone seems to be having recently. I'm also going to get one of the Sanctuary bath products too, I love that scent so much!
