Sh*t I Want To Get Done By The End Of The Year | 2016

I hate to wish away the year (especially since I have such a love for Christmas and I never ever want it to end!) but truth is, the end of the year is coming and there's nothing we can do about it! I'm not really one for resolutions, mainly because I'm terrible for sticking to things, I mean this year I vowed to go running three times a week which lasted around a week, then I said I would get fitter by using my cross trainer for 30 minutes a day, that lasted around 2 weeks! There was also that time that I drank a smoothie a day and tried to cut chocolate out of my diet - but you can imagine how that went! Basically, I'm not really the goal type, since I always change my mind on what I want to achieve and what I want to actually succeed in... I just get bored easily! Also, that's not to say that I haven't achieved loads this year that I should be proud of, I mean I just hit 4,000 on Twitter so that's definitely something I should celebrate! But regardless, there are still things that I need to get done by the end of the year - whether I call them 'goals' or not, and I obviously would love to say that I've achieved things by the end of this year! So I've decided to share some of these 'not goals' with you lot, since writing them down is the first step to helping me get them done basically, also it might inspire some of you out there to make your own list of sh*t you need to get done this year, haha!

BAKE MORE (+ more baking posts!) // I've definitely been slacking on the baking front recently and the last time I actually baked was when I made my brother a boob cake for his birthday... lol! I actually haven't properly baked in my new kitchen yet to be honest, I've had a few failed attempts at making brownies because I can't for the life of me melt chocolate here for some bizarre reason... But I'm definitely setting this as one of my 'goals' for the end of the year and I feel like it should be pretty easy since I usually tend to get out my recipes during Christmas anyway! As you may have noticed my huge lack of baking has definitely meant that I've neglected the baking side of my blog too and I actually haven't posted a baking post since April!! (I've only just realised how long ago it was... oops!) so I for sure hope to write at least a couple more baking posts leading up to Christmas, so expect some Christmas-y bakes coming up!

DISSERTATION // As much as I hate saying it, I definitely need to get more of my dissertation done before Christmas! (If you're confused about what a dissertation is, it's basically a big big 10,000 word, scary essay that you have to write at the end of your degree, haha!) I haven't felt very motivated to write it yet, so as boring as it sounds I need to get myself more into the mood to write at least one more chapter! It's scary when I actually step back and think about how little time I have left at university and how long I have left to finish my dissertation.. so maybe I'll have to write myself a big schedule of when I need to write chapters and stick it somewhere where I'll see it every day - scare myself into writing it, haha! Also, if there's anyone else out there who's also writing their dissertation at the moment, let me know in the comments - we can motivate each other!

NEXT STEPS WITH UNI // Like I just said it's scary when I think about how close I am to the end of my degree and the fact that I'm actually going to have to leave uni pretty soon! I haven't really given much thought to what I want to do next and anything that I have thought about is kind of confusing to me, so I definitely need to sit down and have a proper think about what I want to do next! I also need to find someone who can properly explain all the routes to me and then I can start doing everything I need to do to get these next steps sorted!

GET ON TOP OF CHRISTMAS BLOG POSTS // I feel like Christmas is always an exciting time for bloggers - Christmas posts are always so fun to write and read and gah I just love Christmas for blogging! I definitely need to sit down with my post schedule and start planning out my Christmas posts, since so far I pretty much have one of two ideas, haha! It would actually be so helpful if you could let me know in the comments what you want to see this year with my Christmas posts - any ideas would be super appreciated! I would also love to start writing out a couple of posts so I can get on top of them and be well ahead - I definitely love being ahead with my blog posts, so that if work or university gets a bit busier I don't have to worry about writing posts!

PLAN A GIVEAWAY // Can you believe that it's been almost an entire year since I started this blog and I still haven't hosted a giveaway?! It's definitely been long overdue and now that I've hit my next milestone of 4,000 followers on Twitter I feel like I do really need to thank you all for all your support and love on my blog! I don't really know why I've never got round to it, but I definitely hope to get a giveaway going before the end of the year - I was thinking perhaps a Christmas themed one or one for my blogs first birthday?!

  2. That boob cake sounds hilarious! I love baking, but always opt for cookies/biscuits/brownies/things you can eat in one bite rather than full on cakes, so baking one of those is on my to-do list for the rest of the year. Congrats on hitting 4K!!

    1. It actually turned out pretty good to be honest, haha! Yeah, I definitely agree with you, I tend to stick with smaller bite-sized things! I would love to make a full on Christmas cake this year though! Thanks so much! :) x

  5. Hahaha, the exercise and eating healthy thing is so me too! I've never been one to set goals, I write a lot of to do lists, so maybe writing those was the only 'goal' like thing I've ever done. But I started this thing on my blog where once a month I set goals for the next month, and breaking it down month by month definitely encourages me more!! It also means I don't set myself really unrealistic goals, haha! I hope you do a follow up to this post so we can see if you managed it all!

    1. The monthly goals thing is such a good idea - it's so much better to write it down and like you said, set realistic goals! I'm so glad you like this post too! :) x
