What I Got For Christmas 2016

I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas! I always hate this bit after Christmas, when the fun is over and it's time to go back to normality... although to be honest I'm glad work isn't going to be busy this week because I need a huge break! I had a really lovely Christmas though, despite being ill and barely being able to eat my Christmas dinner, I still had a lovely time with my family playing games and having a laugh and did actually manage to eat my weight in chocolate and pringles, of course! I'm super nosey so I always love reading What I Got For Christmas posts and I've decided to do my own one this year since I ran a poll on my twitter and you lot all seemed want one; so I've chosen a few bits that I thought you guys would be the most interested in. I have definitely been spoilt this year and I couldn't be more thankful for all of the thoughtful gifts I received! I'm sure I don't need to disclaim that I'm not bragging in any way just simply giving you a few bits to add to your own wish list - because I'm an enabler like that, haha! Apologies if this post is a bit different to normal, I'm still pretty ill and I'm ready for a nap so I must admit I'm writing this at lightning speed (and I just had to spend way too long taking the pictures for this post because the lighting in winter is just ridiculous - #bloggerproblems!) Anyways, as I said I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas full of family and food and I also hope Santa brought you everything you wanted!

I obviously got my fair share of smellies! I feel like Christmas isn't Christmas without them to be honest - I swear I don't even buy myself shower gel throughout the year because I just stock up at Christmas, haha! I actually got four new Lush bubble bars that I cannot wait to use, I was running low on my Lush bath products so I'm very glad I was treated to some new goodies. I got some old favourites that I LOVE including the Christmas Penguin, Peeping Santa and also Magic Wand which I didn't actually buy myself this year so I'm definitely using this one first! I also go a new bubble bar that I haven't tried before called Divination - it really does smell amazing as all Lush products do and I've read some really good reviews on this bubble bar, so I can't wait to try it out! Another bath product I received was some Dead Sea Salt, I've been meaning to buy myself some bath salt for AGES and I have just never got round to it for some reason so I was very excited to open this! You get so so much in the packet so it will last a fair few baths and its seriously strong stuff so I can wait to see how soft it makes my skin feel, especially this time of year when my skin is most dry! I also got some perfume to add to my growing collection, the first of which was on my wish list so I was obviously very excited to open - is my new Paco Robanne Olypea Aqua perfume, which I will be using SUPER sparingly! It just smells so amazing and the bottle is so so gorgeous I am in love, honestly.. haha! My younger brother also bought me some perfume which I am very appreciative of, he got me a really adorable little perfume called Cashmere by Next and it smells so good - I may have to go into Next and get more because I didn't even know they did perfume!

I actually got so many books this year and I am not complaining in the slightest because I love them all! I got so many cook books too I'm going to have to get baking some cakes and cooking some amazing meals I think, haha! The first cook book I received is the Jamie Oliver Christmas cookbook which was on my Christmas list, this book is full of loads of Christmas bakes and also Christmas food ideas - so perfect for someone like me who doesn't wan to let go of Christmas, haha! I can't wait to have a proper flick through this book and get baking because who says festive bakes are just for Christmas?! It will come as no surprise I also got a slow cooker recipe book, if you know me you know that I am obsessed with my slow cooker and all the meals I can cook in it so this book is pretty much perfect for me. I was having a flick through the other day actually and you can cook SO much in a slow cooker, it's unbelievable... like you can cook a full on cheesecake in there if you wanted - so I can't wait to indulge in some heartwarming slow cooker meals, I'm feeling very inspired now! Another cook book I got was the Great British Bake Off Classic Cakes and Biscuits book, which again I am very excited to have a proper read of, I can't wait to get my baking on with this one since I loved The Great British Bake Off this year! I also received two reading books that I am (surprise surprise) very excited about! The first one I got was Bridget Jones's Baby: The Diaries by Helen Fielding and I actually have yet to watch the film but I've heard some amazing things so I can't wait to get into this one! I also haven't read the other books either, so I may have to splurge on the other books and read those first - I obviously have watched the first two films a ridiculous amount of times and loved both of them so I can only imagine how much I'm going to love the books. I also got the book The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena which I may have already started and I am already loving it! Obviously you know I am obsessed with psychological thriller books like Girl On The Train and Gone Girl so this one is pretty much perfect for me and I can't wait to get stuck in and read more - I'm sure I won't be able to put it down!

One present that I was so happy with is actually from my boyfriend, he got me the Polaroid Zip, which is a mobile printer that prints pictures wirelessly from your phone - I actually mentioned this on my wish list post so you can imagine how excited I was to receive it! I've already printed out a ridiculous amount of pictures (luckily I was lucky enough to receive 30 sheets of paper too!) and I can't wait to get my scrapbook and start arranging all my photos into a memory scrapbook! I also got a very blogger-ish present (another one that I asked for!) which was a light up message board, I just love the way these look in blog photos and I also can't wait to put this somewhere with a little message - I just need to find somewhere to put it now!

I also received some cosy bits which will surely get some use while I'm feeling a bit rubbish with this illness! Some cosy bits I received was a adorable little Yankee candle in the scent Honey Clementine which is a gorgeous sweet scent that is perfect for this time of year - I can't wait to burn it and have a very festive smelling house (sparingly though because I don't want it to burn out!!) My brother also got me some adorable bear bed socks that I have yet to put on because I don't want to ruin the really cute packaging- but I'm sure I will get really cosy with later on today! The last little bit I got was actually a joint present to me and Ethan from Ethan's sister and she got us some delicious hot chocolate from Hotel Chocolat, she got us the 'Christmas' flavour which I believe is gingerbread flavoured and I cannot wait to try because it basically sounds like Christmas in a mug! She also got us the 'Salted Caramel' flavour which again I can't wait to try and I am super duper thankful for - especially with this cold, I know I'll be drinking hot chocolate non stop!
