December Favourites | (+ My 2016 Beauty Favourites)

Happy New Year my lovelies! I hope you all welcomed the New Year in happily, however you spent it! I had a lovely evening spent with my family - just the way I like it! But yeah, its kind of ironic that the first post of the New Year is my December favourites and it probably should have been published at the end of last year.. but never mind... better late than never right! This favourites post is sort of a special one anyway since I'll not only be showing you some of my favourites from last month but also my favourites for the year featuring some of the things you've heard me rambling about over the year! It actually wasn't too difficult to think up a few things I've been loving for the year, since I definitely have my staples that I always go back to again and again and most of them I have genuinely been using for the entire year if not longer! You might recognise a lot of my favourites for December were featured in my What I Got For Christmas post but to be fair, you can't blame me for loving my Christmas presents and they've definitely been some of my favourite things from the month! Anyway, I hope you enjoy my favourites - let me know what your favourites are this month in the comments and also tell me what you got up to for New Years!

1. Olympea Aqua Paco Rabanne perfume
Oh my lord, this perfume so so so deserves a spot in my favourites because I just can't stop sniffing it! I'm literally trying so hard to use it sparingly, because it's expensive and I don't want it to run out but at the same time I literally want to bathe in the stuff, haha! I just want to smell like this perfume for the rest of my life, because I just love it so so much. Also, can we just talk about how gorgeous the bottle is - it just looks so classy sat on my vanity with my other perfumes and that makes me way happier than it should, haha! Yeah, you get the jist.. I like it just a bit!

2. Lush The Christmas Penguin bubble bar
As you may have heard from me moaning a fair few times... I've been ill recently, which means I've spent more time in the bath than out of the bath and to be honest I've loved it - it's probably the only good part about being ill, haha! So you can imagine I've got through a fair few Lush bubble bars (I desperately need to stock up again.. luckily I did get a few for Christmas, thanks Mum!) and I have to say, it's always difficult to pin point one that I've been loving the most for the month, but this month I think it's going to have to be the cutest little bubble bar - the Christmas penguin! He definitely made me feel festive on the run up to Christmas, I'm just a bit sad that I have to wait until next year to have him again!

3. Collection sheer loose powder (translucent)
One makeup product that I've recently gone back to using is the Collection sheer loose powder. This used to be my holy grail for a very long time ages ago and for some reason I ran out once and completely forgot about it - but you can guess, I've gone back out and bought another one and fallen in love all over again! I've actually recently started baking my face every so often and this translucent powder seems to be perfect when it comes to baking - although being cheap it doesn't last as long as other, more expensive powders it works for me and it will definitely become my holy grail again I can bet!

1. The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena
Another Christmas present that I've already fallen in love with is the book The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena and honestly, I haven't been able to put it down since I started it! It's definitely one of those books that you just want to keep on reading to find out answers and piece things together, kind of like a really good Netflix series.. you know, where you tell yourself you'll just watch one more episode and end up watching an entire series, haha! If you're into psychological thrillers or mysteries like Gone Girl and Girl On The Train you'll definitely be into this and I couldn't recommend it more! As you know from my Thriller Book Haul that I did a while back, I'm terrible at book reviews or explain what a book is about without spoiling too much, but I definitely recommend reading the blurb if you're interested!

2. Prison Break series
I know, I'm super late to this bandwagon... 11 years to be exact, oops! But Prison Break is a recent obsession that I've acquired thanks to Ethan - I'm not complaining really! To be honest, when Ethan first mentioned that he wanted to watch it I was a little sceptical, a crime drama didn't really sound like my cup of tea.. but he pretty much forced me to watch the pilot and I was HOOKED. I'm obviously not even going to try and explain what it's about - especially since its super difficult to tell you anything without giving too much away. But basically if you want a new series to binge watch with 4 seasons (each with 22 episodes!) ALL on Netflix this is my gift to you, haha! I am telling you now, no matter what you're into you will be obsessed within the first episode.

1. Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - I couldn't really have a 2016 beauty favourites without mentioning my much loved Wake Me Up Concealer, I probably used around 10 bottles of this last year and I will continue to go back and buy it again and again - making this my top #1 holy grail makeup product for sure!

2. Mac Brun eyeshadow - I've used Mac's eyeshadow in the colour brun to fill in my eyebrows for almost a year now and I still love it so so much! I've tried plenty of other shadows, pencils and pomades to fill in my brows over the years but I always go back to brun and I pretty much use it every single days now.. the weird thing is, it still looks hardly used - someone please explain?!

3. Lush Lemony Flutter cuticle butter - This is a product I've only recently started using in the last half of the year but it definitely deserves a mention since it pretty much saved my fingers and nails from my getting completely ruined when I go to work! I mentioned it a while ago in a favourites post but my nails and cuticles always used to get ruined every time I went to work (since I'm constantly using my hands!) and I was desperately looking for a good hand cream to save them. I came across Lush's cuticle butter and it's honestly been a huge life saver for me - now I just pop a bit on in the morning and my nails never look disgusting anymore and continue to look and feel soft throughout my busy working day!

4. Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette - One palette I use without fail every single time I do my makeup is the Sleek Solstice highlighting palette. I did a full review on this palette a while back which you can read here is you're interested but it's basically just an amazing set of four gorgeous highlighters that I cannot rave about enough!

  2. That perfume bottle is absolutely gorgeous! Penguin bubble bar has been one of my favorites, and it is something that I have stocked up in my closet. I have been thinking about rewatching Prison Break since I heard there is some sort of spinoff coming out next year. Great post girl!

    1. Love that you have a stock of penguin bubble bar, haha! Ooh! A spin-off of Prison Break?! Need to keep an eye out for that! x
