January Book Haul 2017 | TBR

I'm getting really back into reading and that makes me super happy! As much as I would love to start off the year by setting a goal to read a certain amount of books I feel like that would just create unnecessary pressure for me and reading is a hobby that I love doing to get away from the stress of work and uni - it works for some people but not for me, unfortunately! I definitely would love to do monthly book hauls though and I feel like that would motivate me so much to read as much as possible so I can treat myself to new books. I'm also trying to get Ethan to build me a little bay-window seat in our dining room with a shelf to store all my books so I definitely need to start stocking up on books and fill it up.. that's what I keep telling myself anyway, haha! As you know I'm not a book blogger and I definitely cannot write book reviews to save my life but hopefully this is one of many book haul posts where I can just give you my first impressions of the books and inspire you to go out and read them for yourself! I actually did do another book haul a while back featuring some thriller books I was going to read during the summer (you can read that here!) and it got loads of lovely feedback so I'm very excited to do more hauls for you guys! I hope you enjoy and feel free to share your own opinions of the books in the comments below, also let me know if you've read any of them and any more book recommendations - I definitely need some ideas for what to buy next!

BRIDGET JONES' BABY: THE DIARIES BY HELEN FIELDING // This one is kind of out of my depth when it comes to what I'm normally into with books, since I'm definitely more of a psychological thriller kind of girl. But still, I took the risk and popped it onto my Christmas list because I've always loved every single Bridget Jones film! I actually have yet to watch the newest one, and I feel like I might try and read the book first but both of the other films are up there on my list of favourite films. (Update: I caved and watched it last night.. love it as much as the last two and will definitely be binge watching this so many times, just like the others! Also, I cannot wait to read the book now!) I actually also have yet to read the other Bridget Jones books, so they are definitely on my list of books to get and I'll obviously be reading those before this newest one! Anyways, I've heard some really great things about this book and I can't wait to get stuck into this it, I'm sure it'll be one of those books that just makes you feel all warm and fluffy inside with tonnes of laughs no doubt - so I most definitely can't wait any longer!

GET YOUR SH*T TOGETHER BY SARAH KNIGHT // Believe it or not I have never ever read a mindfullness book before, I know. To be honest that's probably where I've been going wrong my whole life... haha! Well, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with mindfulness books and I thought this would be a good place to start - since it's mindfulness, with a bit of a twist! Also, the title just screamed to me in WHSmiths.. like this book is made for you Jemma. I must admit I've definitely already started this one, I'm a few pages in and already loving it - the comedy is brilliant but the tips are also genuinely spot on, like I feel like I've already learned so much just from the first few pages. I will also most definitely be picking up Sarah Knights other book The Life Changing Magic Of Not Giving A Fuck, because I need that in my life.

HYGGE BY MARIE TOURELL SODERBERG // Yes, I'm being the most cliche blogger and choosing all the classic blogger books, no I'm not sorry! Again, to be honest I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with these Hygge books and while I still don't really know how to pronounce that word, I definitely can't wait to properly get into this book and learn all about it! The concept is definitely something I want to read more about, since who doesn't want more happiness in their lives?! I'm sure this book will be an amazing read, but failing that it makes an amazing coffee table book for guests to flick through - in fact I have it sat out on my coffee table right now and I've been flicking through it every evening and I am intrigued! (I definitely need to educate myself on some basic hygee trivia if guests are going to be flicking through it and asking me about it, haha!)

THE COUPLE NEXT DOOR BY SHARI LAPENA // Something a bit more my speed is The Couple Next Door, now I have to admit I am more than halfway through this book already because I could not wait any longer to read it (and I've had a long train journey since buying this) and I am definitely so into it! As you know, I'm a huge lover of thriller and mystery books like Gone Girl and Behind Closed Doors which are both books I was seriously obsessed with during summer, so this book is right up my alley. I don't want to give too much away so I'm trying to be quite vague but if you're into mystery books you need to read this. I haven't really put it down since I got it, I just wish I had more time to read!

  6. I really want to read Bridget Jones but also unsure. The last book was literally the worst thing I've ever read! Although I've seen the film and loved it I'm still a little aprehensive!
