Little Things I Just Couldn't Live Without

We take a lot of things for granted. I realised that this recently when our boiler broke and we couldn't really turn the heating on much (otherwise our kitchen would start flooding) ... this also meant that I couldn't have baths, so you can imagine how unhappy I was about that! But this really did open my eyes to all the things I take for granted, even just not being able to have the heating on all day and having to be a little bit cold every now and again was a bit of a shock to the system and it made me realise where I would be if I we didn't even have hot water or heating! Not only is this true for all the big things I would miss if I didn't have them like water, food, family and friends etc but all the little things that I take for granted every single day! So for today's post I wanted to write about some of these little things that I couldn't live without, some of those petty little things that I use pretty much every day without thinking but I know if I was on a remote island without them I would be at a loss, haha! Feel free to share some of your own things you couldn't live without in the comments below and tell me if you relate to any of the things I mention!

YOUTUBE // YouTube had to be at the top of my list for sure. It has honestly been with me through thick and thin, it's been there through everything and I completely understand how silly that sounds but it's so true, haha! I can't even remember what I did before YouTube, like when I was bored what did I do?! I swear I never really get bored anymore because I can just go on over to YouTube and watch whatever I want, whenever I want - it's a little bit crazy when you think about it! YouTube has definitely got me through a lot though, on my worst days I always put on a few vlogs and instantly feel better, in fact a couple of years ago I used to watch Shaytards and that's kind of what got me through the tough first year of uni!

COFFEE // I have been drinking coffee for a long time, probably longer that I should admit, but I just love it, always have always will, haha! Not only does coffee wake me up and give me the energy to wake up at 5am and get me through a tough shift at work, it has also become a huge comfort for me whenever I'm feeling stressed or anxious and has also been there with me through every university assignment and deadline, giving me the motivation to carry on! So I genuinely don't know where I'd be without my coffee and my huge mugs that I love to drink my coffee out of!

BEING ABLE TO TAKE PHOTOS // Photography is definitely something that has grown into my daily routine since I started blogging, every single day I find myself snapping pictures of something or other to share. And as I slowly get better at photography and editing, sharing my photos is something I really enjoy doing! Not only that but I really love documenting fun events and days out on my phone camera and regularly look back at old photos to see what I was doing a few months ago, in the same way I also can't wait to look back at all these photos in 50 years!

TO-DO LISTS // I joke a lot about to-do lists being my best friend, but I'm not even kidding really, haha! My week revolves around to-do lists and I would genuinely be lost if I didn't have a to-do list to look at and see what's going on on certain days! As you can tell, I really like routine and I love being oraganised, so the thought of living without my phone to-do list or even pen and paper to write a to-do list on, stresses me out a crazy amount!

MY BATH // You know I spend a lot of time in the bath, I say it all the time on my blog and it's so true - every chance I have to have a bath I do! I don't know what it is about having a bath, but I just find it so comforting and de-stressing to soak in a bath with a book or with YouTube! I honestly don't know how I survived my first year of uni because I shared a house with other students and I really didn't want to use the gross bath we had, so I only took showers.. to be honest that's probably why I was so stressed and anxious, haha! But yeah, my bath is my comfort zone I suppose, it's where I go to breathe and relax and I love it!

BOOKS // Books have recently become a love of mine! I never actually liked reading before, I suppose now I don't HAVE to read books for school I enjoy it so much more, I get to choose what I read and I've found out that I really love thriller and mystery books so I can pretty much be found with my head in some sort of thriller book at any given time, haha! I've actually recently started writing down every book I read because I've realised that I easily forget which books I've read (I've forgotten the books I read in the summer already!) and this is really motivating me to read more and buy more books, I love it!

  8. Taking pictures and writing lists are definitely things I couldn't live without. I also couldn't live without Twitter or my laptop. I have no idea what I'd be doing without those things!
