July Book Haul 2017 | TBR

I'm not going to lie, I have seriously had a whole new lease of life when it comes to reading and books recently and ever since finishing uni I've pretty much read non-stop - which is pretty new for me! I am seriously enjoying it though, especially since I've recently made myself a Goodreads account and I'm steadily working toward my reading goal of 40 books for 2017... we should be friends on Goodreads if we aren't already by the way - I'm always looking for new books to read and I would love you recommendations, you can find me here! I have to admit, I've been reading so much lately, that this post is less of a TBR for July and more of a 'what-I-read-during-one-week-in-July' post, haha! But I wanted to share these books with you guys anyway and I'll try my best to review them... although book reviews have never been my strong point! Anyways, I hope you enjoy this post - you can also definitely look forward to more monthly TBR posts in the future since I'm enjoying reading so much recently. As always, let me know in the comments if you've read any of these books yourself and what you thought of them, I'd love to know!

WILDE LIKE ME - LOUISE PENTLAND // Wilde Like Me is a very refreshingly happy book all about Robin Wilde and her daily issues being a single Mum - the book follows her struggles as she tries to be the best single mum whilst battling against pretty lonely times or as she calls them 'the emptiness' (which I'm sure we have all felt at times!) I have to be honest and say I was a bit skeptical as to whether I would enjoy this book or not, having not been a fan of contemporary and more light hearted books in the past (I normally opt for thrillers!) and having not been a huge lover of YouTuber books in the past - but I seriously fell in love with this book and with Robin Wilde! I really did laugh and cry along with all of Robin's struggles and hard times! Funnily enough, this book served me well as it filled my own emptiness whilst my boyfriend was away for a weekend and I managed to devour this book in no time whilst he was gone! I'm a huge fan of Louise's writing and I can't wait till I get to meet Robin again!

ONE OF US IS LYING - KAREN M. MCMANUS//  This book, simply put, is all about the story of five strangers who walk into detention... expect only four walk out alive! Throughout the book you piece together the mystery of the death as you get to see the story from the points of view of the four remaining kids while they try to solve who killed Simon. I'm a sucker for the 'who done it' element of these types of mystery books and I definitely fell into the trap of desperately needing to find out the truth of Simon's death... and therefore never putting down the book! I have to be completely honest and say that the ending did underwhelm me slightly, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it was a great book. I especially love the characters who on the surface all seem to fit into certain stereotypes however seem to break away from those roles throughout the book - I loved that element of the storyline!

MY NAME IS GIRL - NINA COSFORD // I love this book as it's my only true coffee table book and definitely sits proudly waiting for guests to flick through it! The illustrations are gorgeous and super relatable and I love the art style- especially the 'what's in my handbag page' very relatable lol - if you're into all things super girly featuring bras, heels and mascara you'll love this - its basically a look into a girls brain and it's amazing!
