My Plans For This Summer | 2017

I wrote a little post like this last year where I talked all about the things I had planned for summer 2016 and whilst I failed to do many of the things on my list you guys seemed to enjoy it, so I've decided to do another one for 2017! Although I would love to start this post off by lusting over the gorgeous weather and talking all about how I've managed to catch a bit of a tan it seems like we've seen all of the good weather already and summer lasted a week for us here in the UK, haha! Saying that, I'm writing this well in advance on a very rainy day.. so who knows? It might be gorgeous-ly sunny by the time this post goes up. Let's hope so, because I have a whole list of summer activities to get through this year and I need that sunshine to make them more enjoyable! Last year, despite working too much I definitely made it my mission to get out in the sun as often as possible and that's definitely a mission I hope to achieve again this year.. at least to get a tan that isn't as streaky as it is now... I'm rocking patchy feet at the moment, woo! But yeah, let me know in the comments below what your plans are for this summer! I'd love some more ideas for how to keep myself entertained on my days off!

READ LOADS// This year I want to read as much as possible... preferably in a peaceful spot somewhere outdoors... with a beverage... whilst catching some rays...haha! Reading in the summer is always a must for me, there's just something about getting lost in a good book when the sun is shining - so I will for sure be reading as many books as possible this summer, starting with the books I featured in one of my recent posts my June Book Haul! As you'll know if you've read any of my book hauls, I have a huge love for psychological thriller books, so I will no doubt have my head stuck into some of those books. I'm always waiting for my pre-ordered copy of Wilde Like Me by Louise Pentland to arrive too, which (whilst it'll be completely different to the types of books I usually read) I am super excited to get stuck into! Be sure to let me know in the comments if you have any good book suggestions by the way, I'm always looking for new books to read!

STRAWBERRY PICKING // As you may be able to tell from the photo above we've already ticked strawberry picking off the bucket list this year.. but that won't stop me from going again! Strawberry picking has always been something that I've wanted to do, but just never got round to doing and I actually probably enjoyed it more than I thought I would! Me and Ethan went to a local strawberry farm a few weeks ago and although we didn't spend too long there as two punnets took us around 6 minutes to fill, it was a really fun summer date and something different than what we're used to doing! I definitely plan on going back too, not only was it a super fun day out, the strawberries were ridiculously juicy and I need to make more of my signature Eton mess - find out how you can make your own here! So I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for different summer activity ideas!

GRADUATION // It's funny because I mentioned graduation in my Things To Look Forward To In 2017 post  and back then it seemed like something I could definitely put to the back of my mind and forget about! But as this post goes up I officially graduate in just over 2 weeks and that is a seriously scary thought! I hope by the time this post goes up I will have completely sorted my outfit out because at the moment I'm still not 100% set on what I've chosen.. ahh! It feels so weird to think that I'll no longer be a student in a couple of weeks time but I'm definitely super excited to graduate and you can bet that I'll be taking millions of photos so you guys won't miss it!

FAMILY HOLIDAY// One thing that I am ridiculously excited about this summer is our family holiday which we have finally just booked! It's become a bit of a tradition now that my family along with Ethan spend a week away somewhere in the UK - last year we went to this gorgeous cottage in Cornwall and it was so lovely to get away and spend some time in the sun! Honestly though, although me and my mum had discussed the fact that we wanted to go on another family holiday a long time ago, we left it way too long to book it and it got to the point where I thought it wasn't going to happen... this is also down to the fact that we (well I...) desperately wanted a place with a hot tub and apparently everyone else had already snapped those places up! But we did eventually find somewhere lovely in Wales, with a hot tub (woo!) and I could not be more excited to get away from the stress of work and spend some time in the sunshine relaxing in that hot tub. (Praying for gorgeous weather, haha!)

  3. I'm the same - I want to read as much as I can, and hopefully find a lovely outdoor spot to enjoy lots of books! Also, strawberry picking sounds like such a lovely activity for summer. I hope you have a wonderful time at your graduation!
