October Book Haul 2017 | TBR

It's Halloween month, woo! Yes, I am celebrating Halloween for the entire month of October.. and no one can stop me! So, for the entirety of October, in anticipation of Halloween, I'm reading only books with a spooky/scary/generally bit creepy vibes! I'm super excited about this, being completely obsessed with thriller and horror books - so this definitely has to be one of my favourite TBR lists and needless to say, I can't wait to work my way through this list and get in a spooky mood ready for Halloween. If you're looking for more spooky book recommendations I'm hoping to write a post all about it sometime soon, so pop back for that! Also, feel free to recommend your own spooky books in the comments - I'd love some more recommendations!

CARAVAL BY STEPHANIE GARBER //  So, because I'm a bad blogger and I've been putting off writing this post for too long (and because this book was actually impossible to put down!) I've actually already gone and finished Caraval so I'll just include a quick review for this one instead.. oops! Honestly, I normally try and stay away from fantasy books, particularly those that feature magic... mainly because I was unfortunate enough to be blessed with a huge lack of imagination and normally they just really aren't my cup of tea. I couldn't really avoid the hype of Caraval though and so after feeling like the last person on earth to read the book I decided to buy it and give it a go... also because the cover is bloody gorgeous so I wanted it on my shelf whether I was going to read it or not! ...and I have to say I think I've been converted because this book was EVERYTHING! I honestly loved everything about it - so much so that I basically devoured the entire thing on one 2 hour train journey! I really do think that Caraval has opened my eyes to the amazing world of fantasy again too so I cannot wait to get stuck in to some more fantasy reads! Needless to say, I want more and I cannot wait until book 2 is out!

RATTLE BY FIONA CUMMINGS // I've already talked a little bit about this book back in my August Book Haul and I've been saving it for October because it seems like the perfect sinister read for this time of the year! I'm super excited about this book too, because honestly show me anything to do with serial killers and I'm interested.. is that weird.. tell me I'm not the only one like that?!

ROOMS BY LAUREN OLIVER // I knew I needed to include a book about ghosts in this TBR.. just to complete the collection of creepy things in all these books to be honest, haha! I don't think I've actually ever read a book about ghosts which is weird, because that type of thing is definitely my cup of tea.. so I do have high hopes for this one! I've also heard some really good things about Lauren Oliver's books, particularly Panic which is also on my list of books to read so I'm excited to give this one a go!

WEATHERING BY LUCY WOOD // This book kind of features everything you could ever want to build a creepy atmosphere - it's set in a crumbling house... next to a river... and one of the characters is a ghost. So, once again I'm super excited to get to this one!

A STRANGER IN THE HOUSE BY SHARI LAPENA // I've had this one on my shelf waiting to be read for a really long time, having absolutely loved Shari Lapena's other book The Couple Next Door I can't believe I've actually held off and waited until now to read this one! But I feel like October is the perfect time to give this one a read and of course I love everything mystery and thriller so I will definitely be reading this as soon as possible!

HER EVERY FEAR BY PETER SWANSON // I feel like this book has been super hyped and it's been on my wishlist for a really long time so I finally went out and treated myself to it! I've heard really good things about Peter Swanson so I can't wait to see if he lives up to the hype! If you didn't guess this one is also a suspense/thriller so again, the perfect read for October!

I SEE YOU BY CLAIRE MACKINTOSH // ...Annddd another thriller, just in case my TBR wasn't filled with enough thrillers, haha! But what better time to get through all my thrillers than October, right?! Again, this one has been super hyped and I've been putting it off for so long so I can't wait to get to it!

THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER BY MICHELLE HODKIN // The Mara Dyer trilogy is something I've been meaning to get to for a really long time, I literally never read series or trilogies so I'm super excited to actually get sucked into a good trilogy! I've heard really good things about the Mara Dyer books too, so I'm looking forward to getting into the first book this month!
