Things You Should Make More Time For In 2018

I feel like I'm going back to my 2016/early 2017 roots with today's post, because I haven't written a real 'pep-talky' post in such a long time... but I definitely do miss it, so maybe I'll bring it back?! Anyways, I say it every year, but I've never really been one for New Years Resolutions... they just never really work out well for me. I've tried the whole stop biting your nails, get fit, save money and avoid all junk food thing and nope, I last around a week, loose all motivation and just think f*ck it and long story short... I end up eating all the junk food in the house. I am however a huge believe of using the new year as a fresh start, a time to put the past behind you and try to become a better you.. even if you still continue to spend all your money on books instead of saving it, haha! At the start of this year I decided to focus on the things I want to make more time for... to be honest the things that we should all make more time for! The things that really make me happy and that get me up in the morning! So, in today's post I am going to share these with you and maybe in the comments you can let me know what you're going to make more time for this year, I would love to know!

I know this sounds incredibly cliche, but one of the things I want to make more time for this year is myself. We all know how much I believe in self care... I mean I've only written a million posts all about the importance of caring for yourself! For me, especially now that I've got a full time job, it can be difficult to allow myself time to do what I want to do. Whether it be, just chill out in my pyjamas all day on a Sunday or an extra long bath in the evening I've decided I'm allowing myself those moments, guilt free. One thing I'm making more time for this year are my passions and hobbies, which is something I definitely struggled with last year. It can be easy to push aside hobbies, especially when life gets in the way - but you have to remember that these are the things you love doing and they probably make you happy, so whatever it is you love doing, do it! One thing I'm definitely allowing myself to indulge in this year, is reading! I can't tell you how amazing it feels to get away from all screens and just spend an hour getting lost in a good book - it definitely is my number one stress reliever at the moment, just add a bubble bath and I'm sold! So I will 100% be making more time for reading this year and trying to allow myself at least 30 minutes a day. I also have always loved photography and it's something I would love to learn more about this year, so I've decided this is going to be another thing I'm making more time for this year - which fits in really well with my blog, so expect more photography.. hopefully! Also on my list is nature. I live around a 10 minute walk from the beach and I feel like I don't make the most of that at all, so I'm making more time for more beach walks this year, since they are the perfect way for me to clear my head and forget all my problems! And finally, it goes without saying, but we should also always make time for our loved ones! I love spending time with people who I love and people who love me back because it makes me feel happy, helps to relieve stress and I mean, it just feels good to be loved! Unfortunately, I live a fair distance from my family and friends - but I'm hoping to learn to drive this year and one of my favourite benefits from that is that I will be able to visit family and friends more often, I cant wait!

  1. Such a lovely post! I'm also trying to make more time to improve my photography this year, especially for my blog - although I do have to say that your photography looks incredible on your blog! x
